The friend Lisa and I affectionately call "Gelli Kelley" returns to teach this wonderful bookbinding project.  Using the 4" or 6" round Gelli Art printing plate, you will create fun mono-printed papers to use to make the book of your dreams!  You will need your own round Gelli Plate, but Kelley provides the rest!

Mono Printing on Cards

Learn how to use the 3x5 Gelli Arts printing plate to create soft, visually pleasing, layered backgrounds for your cards.  You will also use some of the newest stamps from Penny Black.  Lisa will provide a Gelli plate and brayer for each table.  Gelli plates and brayers are available for purchase at the store if you wish to use your own for class.

Demo Day is a week late this month.  Can't have Demo Day without Lisa and she is attending the wedding of her long lost niece in California on the regular weekend. It's a beautiful story and it just wouldn't be right if she had to miss it.  In any case, we will have just as much fun as ever and you can see and sign up for August classes.  We will have a wonderful Make-it-Take-it for you as well.

Fly Canvas

I get a lot of comments on this project which has been sitting in the display case (commonly known as "the front counter").  All of the supplies are still available so when we have enough requests, we throw it on the schedule.  If you have been drooling over admiring this canvas, now is the time to create this beauty.

Dina Wakley returns August 14-16 to teach 4 fabulous workshops.  I will have information posted here at the end of the week or first of next week.  Mark your calendar.  You will want to take advantage of this opportunity!

Framed Prancing Deer

I asked Lisa to make a sample using the plethora of extra Tim Holtz trees I ordered by accident.  Everyone loved it so much they asked for it to be a class.... Ask and ye shall receive!  You will need to purchase the altered frame from the store to complete the project but all supplies other than your basic class kit* will be provided.

"Joy" Christmas Canvas

Mini One Page Book

Oh so cute and oh so quick.  You will make this teensy tiny book from one piece of 12x12 paper.  So sweet.

As always you will need to bring your basic kit to class....  This includes scissors, ruler, heat tool, craft sheet, pencil, black ink pad, embossing ink pad, exacto knife, tweezers & anything else you would find handy on your craft table.  These are the things that are difficult to wait for when you really need them.

Call the store (405-509-6788) or drop by to enroll in the class(es) of your choice.  Payment of class fees is required at the time of enrollment and guarantees your seat in class.

Lisa has a great class schedule for you in August.  Kelley Walker is back with another stunning Gelli Plate printing class and  Stephanie Ackerman will be teaching on August 16 & 17.  This is going to be a great month for classes!

Gelli Bound

   You will create this sweet Boxed Book set.  You'll start by creating beautiful mono-prints.  Then you will create 3 purse-sized journals and a beautiful box to hold them.  A great gift for a friend or yourself!  Bring your gelli plate if you have one.  If you don't have a gelli plate of your own, Kelley has one for you to borrow (especially if you are trying mono-printing for the first time).

Basic Grey Unique Cards

Basic Grey has a new program out that we think you will enjoy.....  They have created card kits with enough supplies and printed instructions to create 8 cards.  You will create 4 of them in class with Lisa's help.  You will go home with enough supplies to make numerous cards in addition to the instructions for the remaining 4 cards.  This class is limited to 18 students total so be sure to sign up as soon as possible.

Seriously, this class will blow you away!  Learn how to use scraps to create four wonderful greeting cards.  Scraps will come from some of the new travel-oriented papers by FabScraps.  Lots of fun for you!

 are available with 48 hours notice prior to the class.

As most of you know by now, Lisa Bruno has been teaching classes at My Heart's Fancy for a very long time now.  We can remember a time when we could only seat 6 people in a teeny tiny storage space.  Things have certainly changed, but the friendships that were made in those classes remain strong.  And what's even better?  More friends are added every year and we treasure each one of them!

Well, enough of the trip down Memory Lane!  On to Lisa's schedule of classes (and when I mentioned on Facebook that I was wiping the drool off my chin, it wasn't a joke!).

Learn how to creatively fill a shadow box using one simple paper and a plethora of stamps.  You'll stamp on paper AND on the glass!  You will need to provide your own 8x10 shadow box frame.

Inspiration for this class comes from the "Truth Card" project from the Brave Girls Blog.  You can read about it here and here. It is a project of enormous proportions. This is a beautiful class straight from the Heart of Lisa.  Who knows?  Maybe one of your Heart Cards will make a difference for someone who crosses your path soon!

We had a really great Demo Day on Saturday.  Lots of new goodies.  Great Make-It-Take-It....

 

 

Love making tags.  Best way to learn something new.  We used two wonderful stamps from Stampendous, Dylusions spray in London Blue and Vibrant Turquoise AND THE NEW Tim Holtz Metallic Distress Stains (Tarnished Brass, to be exact).  Ah-mazing!  The Distress Stains come in Silver, Gold and Brass.  We sold out, but expect more today.  You will LOVE them!
