Class Schedule

Just a few more classes to finish out the year. Lisa has created some really lovely Christmas classes and you will really get in the spirit of the season when you come to class.....

Tim's Tags - Dec 2, 3 & 7

Back by popular demand, always a treat..... 4 tags using the latest Tim Holtz products and ideas!

Christmas Display Box - Dec 5

You will really enjoy this project made using the 7 gypsies ATC Display Box and papers from the Teresa Collins line. This would make a wonderful gift for family or friend!

We always have samples on display to give you ideas about how you could use a stamp, product or paper. Someone always says "Which class is that?" So here is the latest class using the samples that were on display in November.

You'll want to make this bracelet even if you made last years version. Always fun and much easier than it looks, this bracelet uses Tim Holtz' link chain and fragment charms. This technique works equally well to make a necklace as well!

Hero Preview Party! - December 18th
This is the last event we will have this year before we move into the new store. This a long time tradition for us and we always have a great time. We will send out more information by email and postcard in a week or two. Can't wait for this fun party.....

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'

Saturday, November 20, 2010

This is the cute Make-It-Take-It everyone got to make at our extremely fun Demo Day today. It's a gift tag made using the new Tim Holtz Gingerbread Man die and a new Teresa Collins Christmas set.

And THIS is the really cute garland Lisa fashioned out of a few more Gingerbread Men. We gave it away by random drawing. The lucky winner is Lynda Washington. Congrats Lynda!

It'll be posted on Tuesday.... right now I gotta get those Christmas Tag Swaps photo'd so you can see them next week too..... They are soooo cool! Can't wait for you to see all of them.... If you participated, you can pick yours up on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.... BUT IF YOU WAIT TIL SATURDAY.... we are giving free gifts with any purchase made in the store... Can't wait to see ya!

AND SO IT GOES......Lots of gift merchandise is going out the door, but there are still lots of wonderful buys waiting for you. If you haven't been by yet, we have a couple of tubs of stampin' stuff marked down 50% or more. We are really getting excited about the NEW My Heart's Fancy to come! We've been looking at lots of new products and thinking about the new flexible classroom. We signed the lease and have the keys so we can get started with the preparations ASAP.....

DEMO DAY..... Demo Day is Saturday the 20th. There are lots of things going on around the city that day so we hope you can make it by for the fun. Lisa has been working on ways to speed up the Make-It-Take-It so you won't have to wait so long. She has also been working on a few classes for the first 2 weeks of December for those of you who just can't get enough.

CHRISTMAS TAG SWAP..... Deadline is Demo Day. The plan is to have them photo'd and sorted so you can pick them up the day after Thanksgiving. However, American Express is helping small business like ours by bringing you Small Biz Saturday and we hope to have a very great special just for you if you pick up your swaps on the Saturday after Thanksgiving......

HERO PREVIEW PARTY..... We just received the details and it promises to be a really good one. We are shooting for December 18th. There will be a great Make-It-Take-It and we'll have lots of the new product ready for you to take home. There will be plenty of catalogs for purchase and as usual, we'll take orders for all the new product not available in the prepacks we are sent.

Big News

By now most of you on the email list have read our big announcement. But if you haven't, then Lisa and I want you to know that we are taking the big plunge and My Heart's Fancy will become a Rubber Stamp and Art Supply store in January! We're very excited to be giving our complete and entire attention to the world of stamping and paper crafting.

And we're also excited to announce that we will be moving into a new location as well. We hope to be in the new location and open by the second week of January. After an exhaustive search we settled on a new shopping center at 164th and Penn called Fenwick Plaza. It's new and there is plenty of parking. We will have a more usable classroom space and we hope to be able to accomodate just a few extra people with ease. We hope you will enjoy it and we look forward to providing you with even more fun things to do as well as provide you with a more comprehensive selection of art supplies. We will post more about the new store as details are available.

A move and change of focus means that we have a lot of gift merchandise to move. Beginning Tuesday, November 2 all gift merchandise (with a few exceptions) will be 40% off. We have to get it out before Christmas so be sure to take advantage of this great opportunity to nab some great Christmas presents for friends, neighbors and family!

Although we didn't have time to get the packets ready for Demo Day, they are ready for pick-up now. We will be closed Friday and Saturday to prepare for the sale, but if you'll give us a call we'll meet you at the door with a packet. Tags are due back by November 20th which is Demo Day and we'll have them swapped, photo'd and ready to return to you by the day after Thanksgiving, November 26 (going by memory, didn't consult the calendar).....

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!

November 2010 Class Schedule

As usual, Lisa has outdone herself.... You will really enjoy this group of classes. Thanksgiving pops up in the middle so you will notice that there are no classes that week.

This class is an October class that was requested by a number of people who were unable to take it when it was originally offered. It was very popular and every class was full..... this is the last time it will be offered, so be sure to get enrolled if you are one of those who missed it the first time around!

This is a box Lisa created a while ago and many have the box and papers. They said..Please Lisa.... make it a class so we can "git 'er done"..... and so.... here it is. You will need the box and papers if you don't have them. Let us know if we need to order them for you.

This is a 5 card class that has a wonder vintage look. One of the cards uses the rosette that is created by Tim Holtz's new die. You will get to use a plethora of fun stamps & supplies!

This is a fabulous Trifold card that opens to reveal a lovely shadow box inside. A treat for anyone you chose to gift.

Justrite Stampers has a great selection of Christmas designs. Images from several different sets will be used to create this wonderful set of cards.

DEMO DAY - SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 20th...... Always FREE, always a FREE make-it-take-it and always a NEW class schedule. This will be our last Demo Day for the year, but we hope to have a Hero Arts Preview Party in December..... details when available.

At press time, these cards were not ready for publication. You will make a group of cards using one of the Ten Seconds Studio molds
which will then be cut and used to make the cards. You will need all your metal tools, matt & paper stump.

2010 Oklahoma State Fair

SO...... i WenT tO tHe gReaT sTAte FaiR of OkLAhoMA.....

Yup... I did. Well, I had a purpose.... I entered photos in the photo exhibit and wanted to see if I won any ribbons (did, but that's an entirely different story). My very cool husband, Jeff, went with me. We had Frozen Bananas, Fried Okra and a Wine-A-Rita (mix available at our store). After alcohol, he was pretty much putty in my hands so I talked him into visiting the hobby & craft exhibits to see if any of our fab customers had won any ribbons.....

AND Yes they did! So I'm going to crow about it..... Cock-A-Doodle-Do! In the Stamping & Scrapbooking category (only one I checked) our good friends, Kay McKinnis, Debbie Musick, Sue Bowers, & Debra Zink won a variety of ribbons. Debbie won the most (I quit counting after 5) with a multitude of 1st Place Blues & 2nd Place Reds. She entered a halloween tag made in one of Lisa's class and it won a 2nd Place Red..... she won numerous ribbons in the scrapbooking catagory with a variety of very clever books and shadow boxes. Kay McKinnis won ribbons for scrapbook pages, altered can top, and a very lovely stamped greeting card. Sue Bowers won a ribbon for a beautifully tole painted scrapbook cover (she is a fabulous tole painter) and Debra Zink had a 1st place blue ribbon winning Altered Birdfeeder decorated with stamping, embelishments and scrapbook papers. Oh, and I must also tell you that her mother, Eileen Sullivan, (who is also one of our favorite shoppers) won a 1st Place ribbon for photography in the Scenic catagory! Way to Go People!

After so much excitement I promptly went home and collapsed on the couch.....

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin!

mY oH mY..... Tag swap was a huge success. Too many pictures to post here, but if you click on the Facebook Icon the link will take you to our Facebook Wall where you can find the photo album of tags. I think you will agree that everyone has something wonderful to share. If you participated and didn't make it by Saturday for Demo Day, your tags are waiting for you to be picked up.

Demo Day
We had great fun and everyone enjoyed making the really cool "goody" bag made with tags. Lisa comes up with the most creative ideas, but this idea was given to us by one of our customers, Rita R. Thanks Rita!

October Class Schedule
I will have the schedule, complete with pictures, posted by Tuesday evening. There are some really cool projects and the first Christmas classes of the season as well.

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!

September 2010 Classes

Hope you are as excited about this group of classes as we are. There are more great projects this month and a couple of great tag and card classes. Without further ado...... ta da! The schedule.....

September 9 & 10
"Creepy" Artsy Tags with a Halloween theme..... Just the inspiration you need for the Halloween Tag Swap. Lots of fun stamps and techniques will be used.....

Sunday, September 12
There was a huge waiting list, so here it is again.... Sign up early if you were one of those who missed out on the last class...... It will fill fast.

September 14 & 17
This box is absolutely over the top! It looks like a specimen box but the good news is that no butterflies were harmed in the making. YeeHaw. Those of you who know me, know that raisin' and releasin' are my way of enjoying butters.....

Saturday, September 18th
This is a long time tradition for us. It's FREE, It's FUN (really it's like a good party), and we have a FREE Make-It-Take-It! Lisa's new class schedule always makes its debut and you can sign up for all the classes for October while you're here.

September 21st
Our July Demo Make-It-Take-It was a sweet 2x4 mini canvas made using Sticky Back Canvas. This class was requested so here it is. You will make 4 fab mini canvases that can be used as an ornament and is the perfect size to tuck into a greeting card.

September 23 & 24
In this class you will make 5 (not 4) great Halloween cards. You will be using several new products and this is a class you won't want to miss.....

Sunday, September 26
This is a requested repeat class. It truly is a wonderful class and the perfect one if you would like to start creating metal art. You will need to purchase a Basic Tool Kit, paper stump, and mat set if you do not already have them. Please let us know when you sign up if you will need these supplies.

September 28th
This is the class for you if you would like to learn more about how to work metal to create works of art. You will create a sampler that will be mounted on a canvas. You will learn a variety of techniques including how to "freehand" designs in your metal.

September 30 & October 1
One of our favorite customers (you're one too!) showed us a card she had done a Cover A Card stamps. It's a very clever technique she developed by accident and it's very cool. You'll take your card making to a new level when you learn how easy it is to do.....

And that is the schedule for September!

Until next post....... Happy Stampin'!

Canvas Tote Class

Everyone who took the Canvas Tote Class created something entirely different. Everyone decided Lisa had done such a good job teaching that they could do it without her (Sorry, Lisa..... but it IS a compliment!). They were entirely jazzed to do it at home. Everyone wanted to see how everyone else's turned out. Someone suggested an exhibit. Someone thought it would be fun to find out which one was the favorite. And so........

Canvas Totes are on Display! You get to vote for the People's Choice Award and the winner gets a gift certificate from Lisa for a class.

You can vote one of two ways...... either in store where you can see the totes up close and personal OR you can vote here on the blog. You have until Saturday to cast your vote. If you want to vote here, just leave your choice in the comment section. Please vote only once.

OK...... let the voting begin (oh, I forgot, voting started Demo Day)....... (drum roll.......)

BTW...... Participant #9.... I owe you an apology. The photo is terrible. Your tote is way cooler than the photo makes it look..... time allowing, I'll reshoot Tuesday and post a picture that is IN focus.....

(1 side ready, the other in progress)

That's it for now....
Until next post.....
Happy Stampin'!
