March 2012 Demo Day Fun

Demo Day
We really had fun on Demo Day last Saturday.  We visited with long time friends and got to know some very new friends as well.
The Make-it-Take-it we made is the most adorable card using 2 new Memory Box Easter egg dies, Ultra Fine Pastel Glitter by Stampendous and a new Tonic Simplicity border punch.  Take a look.........

The border punched paper (white strip in middle of card) is made using one of the new Tonic Simplicity border punches that does double duty.  Not only does it punch a nice border, but you can cut between the designs to create tiny tags with it as well.....  Sorry, I didn't think to get a photo of that idea.

The Easter egg dies used are the Classic Egg (solid) and the Filagree Egg.  You punch the Classic Egg out of Wonder Tape (by Ranger).  Cut the Filagree Egg out of white cardstock.  Peel the backing off one side of the Classic and place the Filagree on top.  Sprinkle with the Ultra Fine.   Now you have a beautiful glittery egg to attach to any card or tag you want.

Card is on display at the store and I'll be happy to walk you through it if you are interested.

CLASS  SCHEDULE

This week is just not cooperating.  A boatload (I know, I exagerate!) of new stuff came in the door yesterday and I am behind.  I will have the schedule complete with pictures up by sometime tomorrow.  Thanks for being patient.  If you can't wait, come on down and have a look for yourself.  The projects and cards are on display.  Lisa has really outdone herself this time.  There is a beautiful spring canvas, 2 fab card classes, a Dyan Reaveley "Dylusions" tag class and a junk mail art journal class.  April is going to be so artistic so get ready to have some creative time here at My Heart's Fancy.....

MAGAZINES

In the boxes of new stuff we got yesterday was a box of magazines from Stampington.....  Stamper's Sampler, Art Journaling and Somerset Life.  All three magazines are full of wonderful ideas and projects.  In fact, there is a 4 page spread in the Stamper's Sampler of cards and tags made using the Dina Wakely stamps we have in stock.

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Creatin'!

dylusions

dylusions  update

I've been watching and waiting for more from Dyan Reaveley ever since I discovered her incredibly fun video from CHA last summer.  I started stocking the stamps as soon as I could find them but was disappointed that we couldn't get some of what I could see she was using in her shop, Art From The Heart located in England.  Not too long ago Dyan became a Ranger Signaure Designer and BAM!  new dylusions products available here in the U.S.  I am so excited to be able to offer her newest product releases for the American market.  Take a look -

When first I saw Dyan demonstrating her background techniques in her art journals she was using Ranger's color washes.  When I started following her blog I noticed she was using much more vibrantly delicious colors...... Now they are here!  Colors so bright they almost glow.

Her stamp designs are really fun and wacky.  I love how quickly you can work using just about any strong vibrant ink.  And you can use the wonderful dylusions ink sprays to paint the open designs as well.  Simply fill up Tim Holtz's water brushes and go to town!

You just gotta love these stencils.  They have 2 designs for the price of one.  You get a really cool background design and then there is a fab corner border included on the edge.  The sizes may seem a bit odd, but they fit most art journals and can be used with a plethora of products.... ink sprays, pastels, paints, ink pads.....

If you haven't seen Lady Dy at work, check out these two videos....

1st one up is Dyan using all Ranger products closeup.

Next one up is Dyan using her own products and although it's not done so close up, it's a good instructional video.  This video is  Dy teaching to store owners in a more relaxed mode.

Hope you've enjoyed this post....

That's it for now.... Until next post.... Happy Stampin'!

NEW  IN  THE  HOUSE

Seems like every day has been Christmas for the last week or so.  And so here's what came in the door yesterday.....

TIM  HOLTZ

No photos, but we did get the new Destinations Paper Stash, Destinations Salvage Stickers, Commute Tissue Tape, Chit Chat Stickers, Metal Box Corners, AND the ALPHA CARDS!  Oh those Alpha Cards are so kewl.  I didn't order nearly enough.  Hope I can get a reorder stat cuz I know these are gonna be so popular.....

COSMO  CRICKET

Really fun Washi Tapes.....  Seriously.... Fun colors and fun patterns.

4 new collections..... Evangeline, 2wenty-thr3e, Tea for Two and Baby Jane.    There are sticker sheets, 6x6 paper pads and the cutest "element decks"  filled with journaling cards that are perfect for all kinds of projects.  The colors are perfect for spring.

TONIC

Tonic came out with border punches that can do double duty.  The punch does cut a fine border, but if you take the border and cut between the designs, you can make the sweetest tiny tags you have ever seen.  Seriously.... f-u-n!

MORE  TO  COME

Dylusions ink sprays have shipped and our order should arrive on Friday.  We have an order from Graphic 45 due to arrive any day as well as a reorder from Stampendous.  Character Constructions has introduced dies for the new Beekeepers Tea and those are on the way.  We also have an order shipping from Crafter's Workshop with more new templates which should be here in time for Demo Day.  I'm telling you, it's just like Christmas here every week!

DEMO  DAY

Demo Day is coming up next week.  It's on St. Patrick's Day.  That should be fun.  I'm a pincher so don't forget to wear something green and make sure I can see it.....  unmentionables don't count!

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!

Prima Scheduled to Arrive Friday

PRIMA  SHIPMENT

Just checked the UPS website to track the order carrying all the new Prima goodies I ordered and it is scheduled to arrive by end of day on Friday.  There are lots of really cool trinket charms, art tiles, & some of Donna Downey's new items.  With any luck I'll have it all priced and out on the shelf by the time I head home tomorrow.  At least it'll be priced and set out somewhere you can see it all by then.....I should have some photos posted by Saturday noon.

CLASS  SNEAK  LEAK
(yes.....leak NOT peek!)
Lisa informed me today that she is working on a class that is really different....  something she has been thinking about for quite a while.  I've seen just a piece or two of it and if I say so myself, it is going to be fun and interesting.  Needless to say, if you think you might be interested in something different......  start collecting your junque mail.  Really.... your junque mail.... & paper stuff you would throw away.  Oh, and you might be looking through those magazines you are getting ready to throw away cuz you might want to be tearing out some of those cool graphics and photos you like but don't quite know what to do with.  I'm just saying.... think fun, think artsy, and get ready to see your junque mail in a whole new way!

That's it for now.....  Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!
