DISTRESSED PAINT FUN

June 4th

If you missed this class the first time around, here's your chance to jump into the fire!  This class was so much fun the students were screaming for more time.  Learn how to use Tim Holtz's new Distress Paints in fun and exciting ways.  Too ..  Much .. Fun!

FATHERS DAY CARDS

June 6 & 7

Such a wonderful grouping of Dad's Day cards.  Don't need a Dad's Day card?  Have no worries.  These cards can be used for any occasion when a "man" card is needed!

WISH UPON A STAR

If you have never tried your hand making a mixed media project, this is the one for you.  Simple and delightful.  Truly a one of a kind!

Dina and Demo Day

  What a gift Dina gave us for Mother's Day Weekend.  She came, she taught, we played, we laughed and there was a lot of graffiti left behind on the tables...... take a look!

I can barely stand to remove the paper from the tables - think I'll just cut them out and hang on to them!  Dina worked while everyone else did.....  just a few of her silhouettes shown here.

It was a whirlwind weekend and I saw an enormous amount of creativity.   If you didn't take advantage of this visit, Dina has promised to be back next year.  I'm already counting down the days!

Sympathy Cards

May 2 & 3

Lisa has created a wonderful group of sympathy cards using a paper collection by Kaisercraft and a clear set of stamps by Hero Arts.  Colorful, yet calm, these cards could by used for general greeting cards simply by changing the sentiments.

Distressed Paint Fun

May 7 & 9

This 2-1/2 hour class is your chance to play and create using the new Tim Holtz Distress Paints.  Let your inner artist loose as Lisa guides you through the creation process.

The Bee Box

Tall Tag Cards

May 21 & 23

You will create 4 over-sized cards using stamps and NEW dies from Character Constructions. You will no longer have to "fussy" cut many of your favorite Character Constructions stamps after you learn this convenient way to die cut your stamped images.

Mini Shrines

May 30 & 31st

You will create these precious shrines using the new die-cut shrine kits from Coffee Break Designs.  Quick and easy!  You'll be inspired to create more from the plethora of other kits that are available.

Graffiti of My Life
Friday, May 10 - 9 am to 12 pm

Come and make a small themed journal based on Dina's popular "Graffiti of My Life" class.  Your personal graffiti is the words, quotes, song lyrics, etc. that are meaningful to you.  You'll make free-flowing backgrounds, tipped-in inclusions, and confined collages to decorate your journal.

Layers of Life
Friday, May 10th - 1:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Join Dina for a layering exploration.  You will create a unique hand-bound journal that is layered with art and meaning.  The binding is similar to a Jacob's Ladder.  Get ready to sketch, scrape, ink, scribble, paint, wash, print, and rub.  You will learn how to control layers, push them, and celebrate them! You'll use paper, cardboard, and other substrates to make your journals pulse with artistic coolness.

Facing the Facts
Saturday, May 11 - 9 am to 12 pm

Dina says she doesn't know how to draw, but she has taught herself how to draw faces.  Guess what, you can draw faces, too!  She will teach you how to draw a face with easy tips and tricks.  You'll use the "magic pencil" to make your faces look artsy and interesting.  She'll show you how to paint the faces with artistic, fun colors.  Even if you can't draw, you can learn to draw faces.  We promise!

The Joy of Silhouettes
Saturday, May 11 - 1 pm to 4 pm

Dina loves a good silhouette.  The human form has so much meaning and expression!  In this class we'll play with and explore silhouettes.  She'll show you several techniques for creating silhouettes with success, and you will layer your silhouettes with paints and inks and words and textures.

Donna Downey & Our New Look

New Look

We had such a fun time with Donna Downey this past weekend.  She taught us so many things with such cheeky abandon.  Donna brings a "can do" attitude with her and inspired all of us to embrace all the possibilities in the art we created.  I promise, anytime you have the opportunity to learn from her, you will come away exhilarated!  Here's a little peek at some of the art we created and the fun we had.....

We had to move things around so much to make room for the classes, we decided to leave the classroom open to the rest of the store....  still a lot more rearrangement to be done, but I think you'll like the results...  take a look....

AND did you know that the classroom tables are always available to you to use for special projects or a girls craft day?  Just check with us to make sure it isn't already booked for something else....
