Just Arrived

More New Stuff
We usually get shipments in on Wednesday.  Sometimes it's just items we are restocking and sometimes it's new lines or new releases from our wonderful lines of products.  Now that we have settled into our new location, we're getting the hang of when shipments are delivered and when the mail arrives.  I must admit, we were spoiled in our last location.  UPS always came in before 10:30, Fed Ex in the later afternoon and the mail was delivered to our door.  Here UPS makes it around 5-5:30.  Fed Ex usually arrives between 11 & 3 while the mail comes in sometime around noon, but we have to run across the shopping center to the boxes in front of Cheezies, the pizza place.......  Like I said, we were spoiled.

Anyhoo.....  yesterdays shipment brought us 7 gypsies and you are just gonna love this new collection called "Camden".  Here are a few pictures of the various new items.....
Really cool...... mini apothecary jars & labels

New journaling pages

8x8 & 6x6 Paper Pads..... Love the patterns! You will too!

Tags, ephemera & teeny tiny "tickets" - sooooo cool!

And from K & Company

Really cool 12x12 Egg & Bird Paper.  Check out that embellishment pack and the matching metal rimmed labels!

Impression Obsession
New Cover-A-Card designs..... They changed our life.... they'll change yours too!

Cosmo Cricket

New 6x6 pads..... Great colors & fun patterns.  Very popular with our people!

Easter Swap
Late breaking details.  We are having an Easter card swap.  We are handing out an Egg pattern for you to use.  Swaps are due April 9th & we'll return them to you on Demo Day, the 16th......

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!

April 2011 Class Schedule

April Class Schedule

Wow!  What a great schedule!  Lisa has once again put together a stellar group of classes and if you were unable to attend Demo Day..... drop in person by and check out what will be taught next month.....  And without further ado, here is the what & when.....

Watercolor Easter - April 5, 7 & 8

You will be using beautiful stamps from Impression Obsession to create these cards using watercolor pencils.  You will also get to use some of the brand new Cover a Card images that were just released this spring.  This class is a great way to learn a simple water color technique that looks good and is fairly simple to master.

DOMINO ART CANVAS - Sunday April 10
This class was part of March's schedule and was so popular that a waiting list was created.  It is truly a work of art using dominos and wonderful images from Artful Illusions.  Get ready for some fun and a plethora of ideas.....

SALT BOX SHRINE - April 14 & 15
This is such a clever idea..... Seen in a publication many years ago, it has been sitting on the "someday" pile..... Someday came and you can make one of your very own!  you will need to bring a Morton's Salt Box (the round one) to make it.  So cool....

DEMO DAY - Saturday 16
I don't know how to phrase this any differently, so here goes..... Always FREE, Always a FREE Make-It-Take-It, and Always a new class schedule!  You just have to come by for all the fun and fellowship!  It is come and go from 10am to 4pm so it will fit your schedule!

MOTHER'S DAY/SPRING - April 19, &22
Spring is always a great theme for Mother's Day and these cards are perfect for just that (or any other occasion for that matter).  You will make a sweet flower pin using a simple technique from Hero Arts that attaches to one of the cards.  You will also use a variety of lovely stamps from Impression Obsession.

  ARTSY SHADOW BOX
In the latest edition of Stampers Sampler is an article about "Story Boxes" made by Nancy Gene Armstrong.  With her blessing, Lisa has recreated one and will teach you how to make your very own.  Thank you Nancy!

  METAL VINTAGE FRAME - April 28 & 29th
A new mold from Ten Seconds Studio inspired this vintage project.  It's the perfect medium for those wonderful pre-twentieth century photos you have of your ancestors.  The mold is included with your class fees so you will be able to create a whole wall of vintage canvases of your family or a great gift for that someone who is deep into your family geneology!

That's it for now...... until next post.....  Happy Stampin'!

Make-It-Take-It

DEMO  DAY  FUN

We had a great time Saturday and if you were unable to come, you missed a fabulous Make-It-Take-It.  Lisa designed a very simple memory project that you could use as a mini scrapbook cover or as a framed piece.  It is very quick and you could easily make a large number for a special occasion in an afternoon.  Here it is.....
The base card is stamped in Sepia on Robin's Egg Blue cardstock using Tim Holtz's new Book Plate stamps.  You get 2 sizes in the set.  We used the large one which is just a bit smaller than 5x7. Be sure you "age" the sides with our favorite "vintage photo" Distress Ink pad.  Then stamp a small frame stamp from a clear Glitz set with an embossing pad and emboss it with our Golden Espresso embossing powder.  It has just a bit of glitter and really sparkles.  You can cut out the center and insert a small photo of your choice (we used a vintage image from one of our Vintage Image CD's) and attach it to the bookplate.  Then stamp the "memories" saying at the bottom in Black Versafine.

When Lisa showed me what we were going to do I kept thinking it would be perfect for a fragment frame I had been wanting to make for some time.  So I went home and made it.....

And here it what they look like together!
I like it!  And if you're interested we will be happy to put the frame on the class schedule so let us know......

Class schedule will be posted by late Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning.  There are some great projects and a few Easter/spring card classes to take.  Be sure to stop by and sign up....

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!

Memory Box & Demo Day

Are You Ready?
It's Time for Demo Day!

Demo Day rolls around every month on the third Saturday.  We are very excited about this one..... We have a really cute project for you to make and take.  The April Class Schedule will be ready and you can sign up.  We have lots of new things around the shop too..... New paper pads from Cosmo Cricket, new paper pads from Basic Gray that Hero Arts has made stamps to coordinate with.  We have some great new products from Bo Bunny that work great with stamping projects including a greeting card kit that you can use when you don't have time to spend creating an original.....AND we have the new Project of the Month and Cardstock of the month from Memory Box.

Cardstock of the Month
Cardstock is a limited edition color which is only available for a short time.  This month's color is Moss and you can create the card with the following supplies:
Minuet 6x6 paper, Moss cards, Brown Distressed Dot cardstock, Gingerbread VersaMagic, Pearlescent Thyme VersaMagic, and Vintage Record Sheet & Fine Fern Print stamps....

Project of the Month
This clever card is simpler than it looks and can be made with the following supplies:
Lime Dot cardstock, Brioche 6x6 paper, Thatched Straw & Gingerbread VersaMagic, clear embossing powder and the Journey Collage, Checker Background, & Cocoa Bean Butterfly stamps from Memory Box.

We always give you a free copy of the cards if you buy all the supplies need to make them.

Karma
Like any proud "dog mama" I leave you with a sweet photo of my beloved Karma.  She accompanies me now and then to the shop and today she gave me a wonderful photo op..... She has a way of sleeping with her hips going one direction and her shoulders going the other.  I finally got a good shot of it as she lay napping on her flannel sheet.  She loves people and is a good companion on an occasional Wednesday or Saturday.  If you should happen to visit on one of those days I would like you to know that she loves people and especially children.  She is generally calm, but will greet you with a wiggly tail wag.  If you aren't comfortable with her, I will leash her and keep her close to my side, but I wanted you to know of her occasional visits.

And that's about it for now..... until next post.... Happy Stampin'!
