Dina Wakley 2014

Dina Wakley
Rocks the Casbah

We had a wonderful weekend with Dina Wakley and I just had to share a few pictures.  Dina taught 4 quick classes and we all learned so much.  Friday she taught us color theory and how to draw/paint faces.  Saturday she taught us how to play with her "women" stamps and then how to mix all kinds of products to make exciting journal pages.

Here is just a bit of the wonderful art that came out of these classes....  in no particular order... and in various stages of completion!

It was a wonderful weekend.  We were all sad to see it end.  Thanks Dina!  We hope you'll be back again next year with another round of excitement!

That's it for now....  Until next post.....  Happy Creatin'!

Dina and Demo Day

Dina Wakley
was here!

What a gift Dina gave us for Mother's Day Weekend.  She came, she taught, we played, we laughed and there was a lot of graffiti left behind on the tables...... take a look!

I can barely stand to remove the paper from the tables - think I'll just cut them out and hang on to them!  Dina worked while everyone else did.....  just a few of her silhouettes shown here.

It was a whirlwind weekend and I saw an enormous amount of creativity.   If you didn't take advantage of this visit, Dina has promised to be back next year.  I'm already counting down the days!

What?  Get Ready, Get Set, Go?  I'm just thinkin' out loud.  And I'm thinkin' that I may just explode with excitement.  Demo Day is this Saturday (tomorrow).  You know how much fun that is....  and I am excited for it to get here.  BUT, what I'm really getting excited about is still a secret. Let me just say that there will be a very special event on the calender this summer.

March 2012 Demo Day Fun

Demo Day
We really had fun on Demo Day last Saturday.  We visited with long time friends and got to know some very new friends as well.
The Make-it-Take-it we made is the most adorable card using 2 new Memory Box Easter egg dies, Ultra Fine Pastel Glitter by Stampendous and a new Tonic Simplicity border punch.  Take a look.........

The border punched paper (white strip in middle of card) is made using one of the new Tonic Simplicity border punches that does double duty.  Not only does it punch a nice border, but you can cut between the designs to create tiny tags with it as well.....  Sorry, I didn't think to get a photo of that idea.

The Easter egg dies used are the Classic Egg (solid) and the Filagree Egg.  You punch the Classic Egg out of Wonder Tape (by Ranger).  Cut the Filagree Egg out of white cardstock.  Peel the backing off one side of the Classic and place the Filagree on top.  Sprinkle with the Ultra Fine.   Now you have a beautiful glittery egg to attach to any card or tag you want.

Card is on display at the store and I'll be happy to walk you through it if you are interested.

CLASS  SCHEDULE

This week is just not cooperating.  A boatload (I know, I exagerate!) of new stuff came in the door yesterday and I am behind.  I will have the schedule complete with pictures up by sometime tomorrow.  Thanks for being patient.  If you can't wait, come on down and have a look for yourself.  The projects and cards are on display.  Lisa has really outdone herself this time.  There is a beautiful spring canvas, 2 fab card classes, a Dyan Reaveley "Dylusions" tag class and a junk mail art journal class.  April is going to be so artistic so get ready to have some creative time here at My Heart's Fancy.....

MAGAZINES

In the boxes of new stuff we got yesterday was a box of magazines from Stampington.....  Stamper's Sampler, Art Journaling and Somerset Life.  All three magazines are full of wonderful ideas and projects.  In fact, there is a 4 page spread in the Stamper's Sampler of cards and tags made using the Dina Wakely stamps we have in stock.

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Creatin'!
