Cupcake Dolls

CUPCAKE  DOLL  INSPIRATION

Our friend Shelley Overholt makes the cutest dolls using Catherine Moore's Character Constructions paper doll stamps.  One day last year I was reading her blog "Honey Lamb & I" and saw those dolls.  I commented that she should have a giveaway and I should win.  She brought me one just cuz she's sweet like that.....Last summer she sent several to Somerset to see if they were worthy of the Art Doll Quarterly publication.  Guess what?!  They were and they are featured in the current edition which just came out.

Now, the USA girl in my photo is hers.  She inspired me to make the Valentine girl in the picture beside it.  I asked her if she or we could teach a class and she said we could.  She's a busy mom of 3, a speaker for the American Heart Association and a busy crafter and really doesn't have the time.  So Valentine cupcake girl is my first and if you think you might be interested in taking a class to make her and several others, let us know......

Valentine Postcard Swaps
We are so excited about the postcard swap!  We got a ginormous number back to swap that you are gonna be excited to see what you didn't get..... so as you know, I'll photo all of them and post them on the Facebook Page.  Don't worry if you aren't a Facebook user....   You don't have to use Facebook to see our business page.  Just click on the icon on the left side of our blog page and it'll take you there.

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'

Still Snowed In

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

It's another snow day for the schools and the weather people say we should all stay inside and keep warm.  Since the snow crews are concentrating on the "Snow Routes" and Pennsylvania is NOT one of those, we will not be open today.  My husband "borrowed" my all wheel drive Suburu Outback Wagon.  He reported that only people with SUV's, trucks, & all terrain vehicles should attempt to get out with the snow drifts in neighborhoods and parking lots.  There are a lot of stranded cars that still need to be rescued. If things clear up during the day today, we will be open tomorrow, but please call first before venturing out.

That's it for now...... Until the next post..... Happy Stampin'!

More New Stuff

Week 3 & More New Stuff!

We've been open 3 weeks now as a rubber stamp art store and it is just more fun than a barrel of monkeys.  Every day brings something new, someone new, and I get to learn even more about rubber stamping than I ever thought I'd get the chance to do.  Lisa is ever so patient when I have questions and it is so much fun to spend time with her learning things and shopping for new products you will enjoy using.  I have always had an appreciation for her talent and now I get to enjoy her encouragement as well.

We spent a long time on Thursday getting new Tim Holtz products ordered.  I know you've been watching his blog as religiously as we have.  There is so much coming.  Thank goodness for all of us that it won't all appear at the same time.

And we got a few new things in.  Here are a couple of pics of some new stuff we got from Tattered Angels.

We picked up a few new colors of Shimmer Mists.... And we had never taken the time to look at their clear stamps but decided to give a few a try..... These stamps are incredibly large.... so large that you could get some rather large pieces of shrink out of them.  We sold out of the heart set, but have more on order and they should arrive this week.  We have ordered a few spring colors of Glaze which promises to have a lot of interesting applications on so many materials other than paper.  Can't wait to try it....  And we ordered some spring colors of the Chalkboard to try.  We understand that it is incredible on grungeboard!  YeeHaw!

We're hoping the weather isn't as bad as it's predicted to be.  If it is and Tuesday isn't very nice, call before you come out.  If it's really bad enough to close the airport..... well, we won't open either.

That's about it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'

New Magazines & Demo Day Make-It-Take-It

Seems like something new comes in every day.  Today is no exception.....  New Magazines!

Green Craft shows you new ways at looking at your "trash" (things you would otherwise throw out!)..... Stamper's Sampler is totally and completely devoted to rubber stamping (ah now that's refreshing!)..... and Where Women Create is devoted to showing you just how creative well known artists use their art studios......

And then there was Demo Day last week which produced this little gem of a Make-It-Take-It.  If you weren't able to attend I thought you just might like to see what we did....

That's it for today...... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'
