Classes for January 2018

PART 1

I am so ready for 2018!  How about you?  

New Valentine merchandise is slowly coming in so the class schedule is short a class or two.  Hang in there....  new paper is due in and Lisa should have the class schedule filled out by the 1st week of Jan.  I'll have a Part 2 posted as soon as she has them ready.

Our FREE Make 'n Take was this really cute "all occasion" card made using a stamps set and die by Concord and 9th.  We used Archival ink pads in Red Geranium, Vibrant Fuschia & Paradise Teal. The gold shimmer paper was the perfect accent for the petals that were cut out using the coordinating die.

Master Page Create - Valentines

The Master Page series has been one of our most popular classes and here is the latest in the series..... The picture just doesn't do this class justice, but this is a fun and exciting class.  If you love creating your own background papers, this is the class for you.  AND there is a special project class 2 weeks later using a copy of your paper if you want to go even further.....

Art Journaling Saturday

It's my turn to guide Art Journaling Saturday and I was feeling abstract. I have been drooling over paintings of a similar nature on Pinterest and decided I had to give it a try. I think this is one wild ride, but will be lots of fun to create.  This is one of those techniques that puts you in a "zen" place - eerily calming.  It did take a little bravery on my part to do it, but after I got started I really enjoyed the process.

Cherish Keepsake Box

This is the project class using the Master Page Create - Valentines paper made on the 4th.  Lisa has created a note card and a few flat cards that can hold photos to put into the box.  Use the paper you created or Lisa will provide a copy of hers for an additional $5.

This is one of our most popular events.  We always have a FREE Make 'n Take that is worth the time and effort it takes to create.  Lisa will have her February class schedule to preview and you can begin enrolling immediately.  We usually have a nice variety of new products to browse and as always, it's fun to meet up with your crafting friends.  Grab a friend and join us for the fun!

Additional Class Details

Class Enrollment and Fee   Fees are due at the time of enrollment.  You may enroll in person, by email or through the website (after Jan 1st).  Fees can be paid by cash or check (credit card for Art Journaling Saturday) in person or Lisa will send a Paypal for her classes.

Basic Supply Kit  You are required to bring a kit of basic paper crafting suppies.  If you are new and need help gathering supplies, give us a call and we'll help you find just the "right stuff".

Sweet Make 'n Take from Demo Day

We used an awesome stamp set called Blossoms Fill-In and a die called Ribbon Banner by Concord & 9th to create this awesome Christmas/Winter Greeting card.  Sentiments used are from the Snowglobe sentiments greetings by My Favorite Things.

Awesome paper bag book that can be used for holiday recipes or as a photo memory book.  This would make a great last minute hostess gift.

Another one of a kind Christmas decoration using the Tim Holtz Etcetera Tag (medium size) for the base. You'll enjoy using it for your holiday decor or giving as a gift.

Lisa has used the gorgeous Graphic 45 Winter Wonderland paper collection to create a fun book in a box.  You can fill the "book" with Christmas memories by adding photos, cards and tags to the pockets.

Gift Bag Christmas Book

Such a cute memory book made using 2 gift bags for the cover.  The inside pages are filled with pockets, tags and flip flaps!  A great gift for someone in the family when you will it with photos and memories of Christmas.

Demo Day is such a fun day.  The class schedule for January will make it's debut and you can begin signing up.  We always have an outstanding FREE Make 'n Take.  Grab a friend and join us for all the fun.

Class Schedule - November 2017

New Class Schedule

We always have so much fun on Demo Day.  Lisa had fun directing everyone in the making of this lovely Make 'n Take.....

We used stamps and coordinating dies from Concord & 9th to create the wreath.  Concord & 9th is a new company we recently became acquainted with and we are really loving their products.  Ink pads and gold embossing powder from Ranger.  

Lisa has a great class schedule for November.  Lots of Christmas Cards and 2 great classes using the Master Page Create - Christmas.  You don't have to take the Master Page Create class to do the card or canvas class.  You can use a copy made from hers.

You will be using a Master Page Create - Christmas artwork to create these cards. Did you take the Master Page Create - Christmas?  NO?  No problem.  Lisa will provide a copy of hers for you to use for an additional $5.  Either way, you'll love how beautiful your cards are using your own or Lisa's hand made paper.

This has become a favorite "class" for us and our artists are having a blast.  Every month Lisa or I create an art journal page and guide you, the artist, through the creation of your very own version. If you have never art journaled, this is the class for you! This month Lisa has created this colorful page using Dylusions sprays, stamps from Dina Wakley and an assortment of stencils.  You provide the art journal and we provide most of the other supplies.

2 Day Zen Painting Workshop

Oh my!  Did we ever have fun learning abstract painting techniques from Jodi Ohl!  Seriously, it was fun and exciting.  Jodi was such a great teacher.  She guided us through the steps with ease and Lisa and I were lucky enough to get to join in.  What a great experience!

So we started day 1 with 4 mini gesso boards and we learned a number of shading and doodling techniques.  Then we spend time putting those techniques to work.....

And on day 2 we created a larger composition and added color.  Everyone's work was amazing and unique to the artist.....

You can see how different and unique each one is.  Thanks, Andi, Mary, and Teresa for letting me photo you guys in action.  

Loved this wonderful workshop and can't believe I didn't get a photo of Jodi in action.  We're already working on the next one for fall of 2018, so if you missed this one, make plans to treat yourself to the next one!

It is with heavy heart that I announce Eileen has had to cancel the Paper Trail 15 tour.  Eileen's father's health has declined to the point it was felt she should return home.

For those of you who don't know Eileen, she is an artist, author, product designer and adventurer.  She licenses her die designs with Sizzix and unique ink applicators with Clearsnap.  She purchased a vintage trailer, Scotty, on eBay and outfitted it as a mobile studio.  She now travels cross-country on the Paper Trail and teaches at stores, retreats and events.  She has logged over 43,000 miles in the past 3 years and has visited 30+ states.  Her home is Herndon, VA where she lives with her husband.  Visit her website to read about her latest travels and adventures!

I am sure Eileen will resume the tour sometime next year when things return to normal.  And I am planning to have her when that time comes so stay tuned, watch for the announcement and remember to .....

Are you an art journaler?  Do you want to art journal?  This is the class for you! This month I'll guide you through the creation of 3 double page spreads.  I know my "lady Iris" looks a bit freaky, but then sometimes art journaling is all about being less than serious.  We'll be using Dylusions paint for the first time.  Learn how easy and economical it is to use.  You should be able to complete the painting techniques and get your first 2 page spread finished.

If you want to learn how to make a "master page" of art to use as a base for other art, this is the class for you!  If you have taken any of our other Master Page Create classes, you know how much fun it is....  Lisa has created a wonderful Christmas themed Master Page.

This Week at a Glance

Are you ready for the Labor Day holiday?  I can't believe the last holiday before Thanksgiving is upon us.  We'll be closing early on Friday (4 pm) and closed on Saturday. I hope you have some fun things planned.  My brother and his wife are coming from Phoenix to have a visit and I will surely enjoy that! 

We have the Halloween Tag Swap in progress.  If you want to join in, stop by for a packet.  It's due on Saturday, the 9th and I'll have them ready for pick up on Saturday, the 16th (Demo Day).
