Swaps

A little of This
and
A little of That

There has been a lot going on around here lately....  Demo Day is a monthly thing....  Guest teachers are becoming a regular adventure ....  and then there are swaps...

Our most recent swap adventure was the Santos Doll Swap.  Here's a collage of the results....

You'll be able to see the individual photos later in the My Heart's Fancy Facebook photo albums.  There are also albums of other swaps we've done in the past.

Current Swap

We've got a Halloween Swap right now.  You can nab the photo below for info and the template if you want to participate.....

Just right-click on the photo & save it or print it full size.  It's cropped for 8-1/2 x 11 so it should print the correct size.  If it doesn't print out right, the tombstone is approximately 5" tall.  There are no rules, in general, but I do ask that you use Halloween as your theme and that you have fun.....  seriously, no requirements other than that.  Use whatever supplies you want and use whatever paper, card stock or cardboard you want (I like to use cereal boxes, cuz I have a plethora of those).

If you're from out of town and want to participate, just mail your swaps to the store.  Email me for the mailing address and to let me know that they are on the way.  The deadline is Saturday, Sept 6th.  They will be ready for pick-up on Saturday, Sept 13 (I'll return out-of-town swaps by mail at my expense).

Hope you'll join in one of our swaps.  We do them for most major holidays, and a few random ones here and there.....

That's it for now..... Until next post.....
Happy creatin'!

Swaps are fabulous as usual.....  Photos will be posted to Facebook tomorrow.  For those of you who participated, thanks!    Swaps will be ready for pick-up tomorrow (Wednesday, the 18th).

Demo Day
Demo Day is Saturday, weather permitting.  We have a lot planned.....  the usual FREE make-it-take-it, Lisa's January class schedule, FREE goodie bags to say "thank you for spending your hard earned dollars with us throughout the year" and SURPRISE.....  a Hero Preview Party!  We will have a good selection of the new 2014 stamps and a few catalogs (none for sale this year).  If the weather causes us to cancel, the back-up plan is to reschedule for New Year's Day....so be sure you plan to join us for all the fun.

The Holidays
We will be closed the week of Christmas through New Year's Eve.  To make a long story short, my husband and I are taking our mothers to Phoenix so that we can all have Christmas with our brothers and their families for the first time in nearly 30 years.   So here is how it will go through New Years Day.....

Now through Friday
10 am to 6 pm

Either way, New Years Day will be fun....  We have some things to move out so new things can come in....  take advantage of the savings and enjoy the start of the New Year!

Joanne Sharpe Classes
The classes being taught by Joanne Sharpe are filling fast.  You can review the schedule here... The Friday classes are already full but please put your name on the wait list.  If one or the other class has enough on the wait list, we may put it on the schedule for Thursday afternoon or evening so don't hesitate to join the wait list.

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Creatin'!

2013 Summer Swap

SHRINE  SWAP

We like swaps....  we really do.  This one was a little different.  Instead of making 12 of something (tag, card, postcard, shape), we decided it would be fun for participants to create one altered object to swap.  Now, you could do more than one if you wanted, but it only took one to participate.

We chose a masonite shrine from Coffee Break Designs.  No theme.... just create from the heart.

To be fair I couldn't choose the swaps for partipants, so swaps were wrapped in a manner recognizable only by the contributing artist. When it was time to pick up the swaps, each artist blindly picked a bag and the rest is history!

But, YOU would like to see what was created, wouldn't you?  Here are the photos.....

A stunning patriotic contribution by Alice Meares

A beautiful floral design by Darla McLeroy

The coolest Bee Box by Linda Kobosky

A fine piece of art by Linda Corbin-Young

Butterfly magic by Marie Brown

A perfect Angel blessing shrine by Mary Buck

A bejeweled beauty by Linda Corbin-Young

Hi-ho Silver and Away! by Alice Meares

The Queen of Hearts flew in from Delaware by the ever talented Suze Perrott

And last, but certainly not least.... a Halloween cabin by Nicole Kohmescher

Lisa and I were devastated that we were unable to get ours finished as we definately wanted every single one of these pieces of art!

Hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of art from a few of our many talented friends.

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Creatin'!
