 November 2021

Class schedule

Preview Day is always a great deal of fun.  And, of course, last Saturday was no exception.  There were two great football games and OSU's game was during Preview Day so I am sure that had something to do with our being busy beyond imagination in the morning and slow, but steady, in the afternoon.  Anyhoo.... we still had a great Make 'n Take for everyone and while we had a few supplies left, we had none of the stamps or dies left!  Woo Hoo!

As you can see this card was absolutely perfect!  The tree stamp is from Catherine Pooler's "Wrapped & Ready" stamp set, which also features a stamp of a car with packages on it.  "I can't wait" came from the "Near or Far" stamp set featuring great sentiments for Christmas.  We used a variety of Tombow brush pens to color and added gold "pearls" from PinkFresh.  The papers we used were from the Happy Christmas collection by Carta Bella.  We also used one of Catherine Pooler's Scallop dies from the Scallops and Dots" die set.  The tag die came from the Notecard Frame and Tag die set, also by Catherine Pooler.

Thanksgiving is next month and we'll have special hours that week.  Please make a note of the schedule.... and yes, of course, I'll remind you when it gets closer.

Thanksgiving Week Hours
Tuesday, Nov 23 - 11 am to 5 pm
Wednesday, Nov 24 - 10 am to 2 pm

Lisa has an outstanding class schedule for November.  Here is the line up, but I do recommend you come by to see them yourself as photos never do justice to the real thing!

Preview Day was a blast!  Lisa manned the Make 'n Take table and we created this fun card using stamps and dies from Catherine Pooler.  The Celebrate Circle Die was cut from our Basis Blue cardstock. We have a few supplies left and I will be happy to furnish instructions if you purchase stamps and die to make it.

Lisa's class schedule is full of cards this month as there are so many occasions - fall, Christmas & all occasion....  We had so many requests for the the mixed media apron that it has landed back on the schedule.  If you didn't make it Saturday, drop by soon and take a look at the samples.  Next week's class has openings and it's filled with techniques.

August 2021

Class Schedule

What an exciting weekend we had!  On Thursday evening Lisa learned that her daughter, Lauren, would be delivering her first baby on Friday (much earlier than expected).  So our good friends Cherri & Adona gathered together with me to help Lisa have as much time off as she needed to help Lauren and her husband welcome little Dani Rae into this world.  There is more to the story, but it isn't mine to tell. Lisa will share later, but it is truly a work of God and all is well.  I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.  And here is the adorable birthday card everyone who came enjoyed making for FREE!

We used 2 stamp sets and a coordinating die set from Catherine Pooler.  We also used Vintage Photo Oxide ink & the new Tim Holtz Salvaged Patina oxide ink to stamp the words and daschound.  I have a few of the stamp sets left and also the background paper if you want to grab a set.

Lisa had most of her class schedule ready.  The last class for August has 2 more cards coming and I'll post the picture as soon as they are ready. She has the stamps and knows what she is doing, but didn't have the time to put them together before Dani Rae made her entrance.

So here's the August schedule!

July 2021

Class Schedule

Lisa and I want to say thank you to all our friends who joined us Saturday for Preview Day.  Lisa brought her July class schedule samples and I must say she has a great line up for you next month.  I hope you'll get by to see them in person this week.  I am certain you'll find one or more (maybe all!) class to enroll in.

I love the FREE Make 'n Take we provided for Preview Day.  You know Lisa and I feel like it's always worth your time to come by just for it.  Here's what we did this time.....

All stamps, dies (except the label die for the sentiment), sequins and ink pads are by Catherine Pooler.  The stamp set features 3 adorable puffins, a variety of under the sea creatures and some sentiments that are just perfect for an anytime card.  The only die we used that isn't Catherine Pooler is the label die that comes from an infinity set by Hero Arts.  We used two colors of ink to create the two toned underlayer (Something Borrowed & Suede Shoes).  The Sea Kelp background die was cut from our Basis Teal cardstock.  There are a few of the supplies used to create this card available.  I will have to order the dies for the puffins as we sold out of them on Saturday.

Let's get to the schedule, shall we?!?

Oxide/Gelli Plate/Platform - $35

Thursday, July 1st - 10:30 am OR 6 pm

I know you're going to enjoy this class.  You'll use the Gel Plate with oxide inks and stencils to create a variety of backgrounds to make these beautiful 5x7 cards.  Stamps and dies are from Impression Obsession, Hero Arts, AlteNew and more.  You'll make more gel prints than you use, but I am sure you'll use those to create even more cards later.

G45 Tri-Fold Folio - FINALLY! - $30 (purchase folio from store)

Thursday, July 8 - 10:30 am OR 6 pm

This class was originally scheduled for April and the folios had sold out.  We have been patiently waiting for them to return to stock and YAY! they finally have.  If you enrolled in this class, you have a spot held for you and you have already paid for it.  Just let us know which class you want to be in.  If you are interested in this class but were not signed up, feel free to be added to the wait list and we will call you if someone in the original group has to drop out.  We have enough folios for 4 more people and can schedule an overflow class for Friday, the 9th if need be.

Gelli Print Fun - $35

Thursday, July 15 - 10:30 am OR 6 pm

Everyone likes to gel print.  We try to put a class on every 4 or 5 months and it's time again.  Gel prints can be used for so many different things - card making, scrapbook page backgrounds, collage.  You'll work on a variety of papers as well as tags and atc cards.  Come join the fun.  We have gel plates if you don't, so don't be shy if you've never tried this amazing art technique.

Short Cut Watercolor - $30

Thursday, July 22 - 10:30 am OR 6 pm

These cards truly are beautiful.  Lisa calls this the lazy artists way to use watercolor to create quick and beautiful cards.  You'll use several watercolor techniques using watercolor brush markers, Tombow Markers & Distress Inks.  So very fun and of course, no experience required!

Dylusions Art Journal Creation - $35

Thursday, July 29 - 10:30 am OR 6 pm

Who doesn't need a cute journal to carry around in your purse or tote bag?  Think of all the places you are waiting with nothing to do....  Make this cute art journal and have something to make art in when you are in "wait mode" for an appointment or even just to play in during your lunch break.  You can even use premade traveler's journals (or make your own) for notes and your calendar if you wish.  This journal is a white canvas and ready for our favorite "masterpage" technique.  Fun and easy!
