April 2023

CLASS SCHEDULE

We had a really fun Preview Day on Saturday.  Our FREE Make 'n Take card was quick and easy.  Everyone enjoyed making it...  What do you think about it?

We used the March Impression Obsession Limited Edition Red Rubber set. We do have a few sets left but they won't last long so be sure to pick up one soon.  These sets are only available for 2 months and when they are gone, they are gone forever.

Lisa has an outstanding class schedule for April.  Round cards make a second appearance, but use a different technique.  There is a darling "greenery" card class and Lisa is using the Crafter's Workshop Color Sparks again on a seriously gorgeous set of cards. Check out the schedule!  It's definately a winner.....

Green Thumb Not Needed - $30
Thursday, April 6
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Who needs a green thumb when you’re making these cards? Not you! You’ll use a variety of greenery stamps to create this wonderful set of greeting cards. These cards are appropriate for all occasions and would make a lovely set of notecards as well.

"Sparks" Will Color - $35
Thursday, April 13
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Sparks? Exactly! You'll use the Crafter's Workshop Color Sparks powders to create unusual background papers for this set of cards. No two backgrounds turn out alike, but trust me, they will all be amazing. These cards will work for any occasion and can be used for men, women and children. This technique is addictive and you can turn out lots of them in a short amount of time once you know how to do them.

Preview Day - FREE
Saturday, April 15
10 am to 4 pm

We don't call it Preview Day for nothing!  You get to preview the classes for May during Preview Day.  All the samples will be on display and you can enroll on the spot!  We also offer a FREE Make 'n Take for everyone who attends.  They are very popular and if you like what you make, the supplies will be available for purchase.  We also feature the newest products to arrive instore in our classroom area.  Grab a friend and enjoy all the fun!

Shimmer Go Round - $35
Thursday, April 20
10:30 am OR 6 pm

We discovered the fun of round cards last month and this month we're discovering a new shimmer watercolor that is amazing on top of dark cardstocks.  You'll get a chance to try these amazing watercolors before you buy them in this class.  Be sure to enroll as soon as possible...  our last round card class was so popular we had to throw on an additional class.

Art Journal Saturday - $20
Saturday, April 22
9 am OR 1:30 pm

Art journaling is a way to learn how products work together or explore a brand new art product.  It's a great way to practice choosing color palettes and composition.  Lisa or I create a piece of art in one of our art journals and then guide you through the steps we used to create it.  You'll create your very own version and go home with a unique creation all your own.  Join us!  It's sooooo much fun!

Master Page Create - $35
Thursday, April 27
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Ready?  Set?  CREATE!  This class is one of our most popular.  You'll create a unique piece of art that can be used for so many things....card fronts, layers, collage fodder, die cuts and more!  You'll use acrylic paints, stencils, stamps, paint markers and doodle pens.  If you haven't made a Master Page before, you are in for a treat!

February 22, 2023

March 2023 Class Schedule

What an incredible Preview Day!  Although I couldn't be there, Lisa, Adona & Cherri handled everything beautifully.  The morning apparently started a little slowly, but we had a record number of friends show up for all the fun.  I missed being a part of the fun but it's good to know that I have such great friends.

The FREE Make 'n Take was a huge success using the Impression Obsession February 2023 Limited Edition stamp set. We sold completely out!  I see that we have a list of reorders so I'll get on that later this week.  It was still available when I checked yesterday.  Here's a look at that cute card everyone who came got to make!

Lisa has a great line-up for March.  All the card classes teach new techniques and if you can't take them all, it's tough to decide which one to take!  Have a look.....

Round About - $35
Thursday, March 2
10:30 am OR 6 pm

These awesome cards feature 3d Embossing folders from Altenew, reinkers (distress & oxide) and features a new techniqe Lisa has never taught before.  The round shape adds to the excitement.  I know you'll love them.  You'll never look at embossing folders the same after this class.

Easter Time - $35
Thursday, March 9
10:30 am OR 6 pm

It's time to start those Easter Cards!  Lisa is using some really great Easter images and dies from Impression Obsession and the 2023 Easter paper collection by Echo Park.  You LOVE the envelope style of these cards.  At first glance they look like an envelope but open in a clever way to reveal a traditional style card.  I think you'll use this card technique for a number of other occasions in the future.

Oxide Fun - $30
Thursday, March 16
10:30 am OR 6 pm

It's been a while since we played with the oxide inks.  The cards all use Oxides but each card is created using a different technique.  You'll use embossing folders, stencils & even glossy cardstock.  If you have never used the Oxides before, this is the class for you!

Preview Day
FREE
Saturday, March 18
10 am to 4 pm
Come & Go

Grab a friend and share the fun of Preview Day!  This is the day we reveal the new classes for next month - April in this case.  You can browse the new products that arrived during the weeks before and enjoy our FREE Make 'n Take while supplies last.  Our FREE Make 'n Take is a special thank you gift for those who attend Preview Day and is not available afterwards.

Gel Print ATC Style - $35 or $40 w/Box
Thursday, March 23
10:30 am OR 6 pm

What's an ATC you ask?  Artist Trading Card!  These little trading cards came about nearly 30 years ago when people attended Rubber Stamp Conventions around the country.  They would make small pieces of art the approximate size of a business card to trade with other attendees.  It became a tradition that is still being done through mail art exchanges as well as in person events!  They can be used as part of a card front or as little sweet encouragement cards for friends and strangers who just need a little lift.  You will gel print ATC's for the first half of the class and then spend the 2nd half decorating them with stamps and doodles.  Tim Holtz has a small "drawer" style box that is perfect to store them in until you need them!  The cute Tim Holtz card file box is included in the $40 class fee.  Additional boxes will be available for $8.59 (they are useful for organizing a plethora of other ephemera!).

Art Journal Saturday - $20
Saturday, March 25
9:00 am OR 1:30 pm

This is our artsy Saturday class and we love it!  Lisa or I create an art journal page and we guide you through the process we used to create it.  Your page will be your very own unique interpretation of it.  You bring a journal and we provide the rest!  Sometimes we use brand new products and you get to try before you buy so to speak!

Tim Holtz Reliquary Dome Creation - $35
Thursday, March 30
10:30 am OR 6 pm

The new Tim Holtz spring Idea-ology collection is stunning!  Lisa is in love with the oval shaped dome and had so many ideas floating in her head after she saw it.  We didn't find out about it in time for her to get the dome created, but I know you'll love it - especially if you love vintage projects. The products are supposed to ship by the end of this week and then she can get on it!  I'll post the picture as soon as she has it done. We haven't done one in a while so get ready!  It's going to be fun and creative!

That's it for the March shedule.... here are a few things to remember.

Valentine Swaps!

I love sponsoring swaps and Valentine's is usually one of the swaps that is the most popular.  It's been a long time since I posted more than the class schedule, but there are a lot of people who are not My Heart's Fancy Facebook page followers.  I am pleased to post those photos here today!

I gave everyone alphabet flash cards and of course the rules were few....  Use the theme of Valentine's Day, have fun and sign your work.  There is no requirement to buy anything from the store or make one for the store.  I really just want everyone to enjoy creating and then the sharing.

Here are the swaps!  Enjoy the view.....

FEBRUARY 2023

CLASS SCHEDULE

I hope everyone had a good time at Preview Day.  Lisa, Adona and I certainly did!  I think everyone enjoyed this FREE Make 'n Take

I had a good time creating it.  It was my version of one included in the idea booklet of the Limited Edition stamp set from Impression Obsession.  There are a few sets left, but I've already had calls from messages from 2 people and I think I only have 2 left.

Lisa has a great schedule for February.  Three card classes and a gel floral canvas board.  On to the schedule!

Gel Print Blooms - $35
Thursday, Feb 2
10:30 am OR 6 pm

This is an awesome class!  Lisa offered in May of 2020.  Because of Covid, this was the first month we were able to offer in person class and class seats were limited to 6 people.  Lisa decided to bring it back so more people could enjoy the fun.  I was able to make one for my mom's 93rd birthday.  You can see it on Facebook here.  Your piece will be on a 6"x12" cradled wood panel.  You'll use gel prints (Lisa shares hers for those who have none) to create this project.  It makes a great gift or you can keep it for your art space!

A New Twist on Cards - $30
Thursday, Feb 9
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Lisa has a new technique to share with you!  You'll use rub-ons from 49 and Market on muslin to create focal points for your cards.  This is so much fun and so easy.  You must take this class!

Watercolor Wonders - $30
Thursday, Feb 16
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Everyone loves a good watercolor class.  Lisa has created three floral beauties that you will enjoy creating and sharing with those you love.  One of these is a postcard!  Can you guess which one? Stamps are from Penny Black, and Tim Holtz.

Preview Day - Saturday, Feb 18
10 am to 4 pm
FREE Make 'n Take from 10 to 3:30
Come and Go

This is the day you can preview the March classes and begin enrolling.  Enjoy a free Make 'n Take so grab a friend and share the fun.  Browse the latest arrivals.  It's more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

This and That - $30
Thursday, Feb 23
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Definately a collection of "this and that" but oh, what fun!  Stencils, die cuts, stamps and doodles make up a class that will keep you on your toes.  These cards are fun and enjoyable to make.

Art Journal Saturday - $20
Saturday, Feb 25
9 am OR 1:30 pm

I'm calling #2 the winner unofficially, but there are still a few days left for you to vote on Facebook. Lisa had 2 spreads and we couldn't decide which one.  So we asked everyone who came on Saturday  to vote for their favorite.  There were only a few people who voted, so I put it on Facebook for voting.  You can see #1 here.  You can cast your vote until Sunday (although it already looks like a runaway race). In any case, those of you who like Art Journal Saturday, will enjoy this one and most likely we'll do #1 later.

That's it for the classes, however, here is an important read.....

 January 2023

Class Schedule

Wow!  What a great Preview Day we had on Saturday!  It was so much fun to visit with all of our friends.  We saw some we haven't seen in a while which is always a treat.  It was a very joyful time.  Here's the cute Make 'n Take that Lisa created for us to share.

The stamps and the circle die (with tiny dots just around the edges) are from Catherine Pooler, the embossing folder from Sizzix and we used the Tim Holtz Speckled Egg distress pad to highlight the embossing.  The background paper is from Carta Bella and we sold out completely.  I checked to see if we could get any more of it, but it is completely gone.

Lisa has a very fun schedule for January.  She starts it off with a sweet Valentine card class and ends up with gel printing.  There's a lot in between so get ready to have some fun!

Valentine Time - $30
Thursday, Jan 5
10:30 am OR 6 pm

What a great selection of Valentine's!  Each one is different and special.  There are die cuts, pockeys, fancy folds, pockets and embossed items. One gift card holder doubles as a cute door knob hanger.  You'll have fun creting these cards and those who receive them will be so honored!

Winter Wishes - $30
Thursday, Jan 12
10:30 am OR 6 pm

January is going to be cold in Oklahoma this year....  why not send out some snowy, wintery cards that can be used for any and all occasions?  Lisa has used the "Snowed In" paper collection by Simple Stories to create this great collection.  There are cards suitable for men, women, and kids.  Don't be shy!  You know you want to make these!

Mixed Media Mini Journal - $35
Thursday, Jan 19
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Lisa is bringing back this wonderful mini journal we created back in about 2015.  I gave mine away to Joanne Sharpe because she loved it so much and I really wanted to make another one for me.  Lisa is so kind that she said "Sure!" when I asked her to put it on the schedule.  This is a mini master page project that makes the best little "traveler's journal".  The books inside will be filled with a variety of page styles and can be removed and replaced when filled with notes and lists.  The book is small enough to fit in most purses so you can take it with you wherever you go!

Preview Day - FREE

10 am to 4 pm

Everyone loves to gel print!  It's been a while since we have offered it, so get ready to have some fun.  We'll be getting a batch of interesting new stencils by Carolyn Dube from Stencil Girl Products for you to try.  I think you can do some really interesting things and Lisa will show you a few tricks that you can do with them.  It will help you see stencils in a whole new light!

Art Journal Saturday - $20
Saturday, Jan 27
9 am OR 1:30 pm

January's Art Journal page will be a continuation of my Color Wheel series.  If you took the first Color Wheel Art Journal class, you'll want to add to your skills, but it isn't necessary to have taken the original class.  I hope to have the sample done before Christmas so be on the watch for an email or facebook update.
