May 2019 Schedule

May Class Schedule

I know I say this every month, but it's really true.  Lisa and always have fun and truly enjoy Demo Day.  It was quiet for a while but then BAM! we got busy!  The Make 'n Take was a hit.  Here it is.....

This card was a little difficult to photograph due to the white card and low contrast of the word "blessed" cut from the silver sparkle paper.  We used a mini Gel Press print plate to create the background color with an Archival Sky Blue Ink Pad.  The stamp and die are from MFT Stamps.  Simple but elegant.  Perfect for an Easter, Mother's Day, Thinking of You, or Sympathy card.

Lisa's new class schedule for May is filled with cards and by request a repeated Gel Print class.  Drop by to see them in person as the pictures never do justice to the actual cards and projects.

Beautiful Greetings
Thursday, May 2
10:30 am OR 6 pm

The name says it all.... just beautiful cards appropriate for every occasion.  Flowers, trims and beautiful colors are used with stamps from Penny Black and My Favorite Things.  You'll use watercolor techniques for this class with watercolor markers, Woody pencils & Hero Art's Liquid Watercolors.  This is a must do class!

Gel Print Play

2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Lisa will be sharing more interesting ways to make mono-prints using your gel printing plates.  A popular class, enroll early as this one will fill fast! Want to know what to do with all your exciting prints?  Take the Gel Print Journal class and make a fun journal with them!

Box of Joy
Thursday, May 9th
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Prima came out with ATC boxes.  The box is filled with 52 ATC sized cards.  You'll gel print for 30 to 45 minutes and then embellish the box and create 10 to 15 ATC's using the prints, Oxide Sprays and stamped images. You'll be jazzed to make even more after class! Fun to give away as encouragement cards and fun to use as layers on cards.

Art Journal Saturday
Saturday, May 11
10 am OR 2 pm

This month we'll be exploring the Oxide Sprays by using tags that will be collaged to your journal page.  Backgrounds will be created using Dina Wakley paints and a brayer.  Additional embellishments using stencils and Washi Tape will add interest to an otherwise simple page.  You will need your art journal and a brayer (2" or 4" is good).

Pastel Expressions
Thursday, May 16
10:30 am OR 6 pm

You may never have played with any of the lighter colored Distress inks and you'll get the chance to explore them making these beautiful cards.  Soft colors are achieved by using the softer colors of Distress Ink pads.  You'll be using stamps from Tim Holtz and Impression Obsession as well as a new die from Penny Black.
