January 2020

CLASS SCHEDULE
january 2020

I can't believe that it's time for the January Class Schedule for 2020!!!  This begins our 9th year as an art supply store and it has been so much fun.  I wasn't sure we'd make it through that 1st year.  Along the way Lisa and I have had many joyous times and a few sad ones.  The circle of life has taken friends and family members and brought new babies to friends and family members during these 9 years.  We've had fun this past year and look forward to even more fun in 2020.  We're glad you're here with us on this journey and wish you a very Happy New Year!!!

Demo Day was a blast!  We welcomed new people and enjoyed the company of our good friends.  The FREE Make 'n Take was this really cute magnetic frame calendar using a new, but classic Mary Engelbreit image that RubberMoon Rubber Stamps is now producing.    We did sell out of the image used here as well as the tiny calendars, but will have more in stock as soon as possible.  This makes a great little gift for friends and family.

February's class schedule is really fun.  Lisa has 2 Valentine card classes and a project using the Master Page Create from last October.  If you didn't make it by on Demo Day, drop in and take a look at the classes in person.  My photos don't do them justice.

Here's what we've got for January.....

November 2019 Classes

Classes! and
A Weekend Extravaganza

You know we always have a great time during Demo Day and Saturday was no exception.  Although there were 2 big football games for Oklahoma and a plethera of craft fairs, we had a wonderful crowd of friends for the debut of Lisa's November class schedule and our FREE Make 'n Take.  Thanks everyone who came to visit.  We always enjoy our special visits with all of you.

One of the exciting things about Lisa's schedule this month is the Fri/Sat weekend extravaganza on the 22nd & 23rd.  She has created 3 very fun Christmas decor projects to make in a weekend. We will be limited to 12 students in each class so make sure you don't miss out by waiting too late to enroll.  Those who enroll in all 3 will receive a $5 discount and a bonus kit to take home.

So now.... here is the schedule!

Elegant Christmas Cards
Thursday, Nov 7
10:30 am OR 6 PM
$30

These cards are ultra elegant and have lots of sparkle and shine.  You will want to make more of all of these to use as your signature Christmas cards.  Your friends will talking about your talent for weeks.

Art Journal Saturday
Saturday, Nov 9
10 am OR 2 pm
$15 materials fee

Lisa always creates a fabulous page so I often have a hard time following her.  However, I had such a wonderful time creating this spread that I hope you will enjoy learning the techiniques I used in this one as much as I did.  We'll be exploring the use of paint on stamps.  Even thought it's a little tricky, once you get the hang of it, you'll be wanting to use this technique often.

Altered Book Christmas Style
Thursday, Nov 14
10:30 am or 6 PM
$40

Junk journals are all the rage and here's your opportunity to learn how to create one.  You'll learn how to gut an old book and reuse the cover to make up the most amazing "junk" journal book. Then you'll learn how to make signatures (the pages) using old scrap papers, music paper, envelopes and more that you couldn't bear to throw out, but could find no use for.  Your unique, one of a kind book can be used as an art journal, photo album, or memory book.  You'll be making more with the techniques you'll learn here!

Demo Day
Saturday, Nov 16
10 am to 4 pm
FREE Make 'n Take
10 am to 3:30 pm

Join us for this fun day of reveal when Lisa's December class schedule comes out.  The schedule will be filled with quick and easy classes  through December's Demo Day.   We will have a fun FREE Make 'n Take for you so grab a friend and share the fun.  Light refreshments will be served.

Gift Box of Cards
Thursday, Nov 21
10:30 am OR 6 pm
$35

Transform a plain old paper mache' box into a special holder for Christmas pictures and tiny keepsakes.  It holds 5 beautiful Christmas cards made using the "One Night in Bethlehem" paper collection by PhotoPlay.  It would make a lovely hostess gift.  The niche in the box cover is just perfect for a Nativity vignette created from the matching stamp & die set.

Weekend Extravaganza
Friday, Nov 22 & Saturday, Nov 23

Lisa has created this set of 3 classes that form a group of Christmas projects that work individually or together as a group.  Take one class or all!  There is a $5 discount and a bonus kit for anyone who takes all three!

Christmas Chunky Book
Friday, Nov 22
6 pm to 9 pm
$40

The Halloween Chunky Book was such a success that a Christmas version was requested.  Tim Holtz has created another set of Baseboards and ephemera for Christmas and Lisa has used it here in an elegant decorative book you'll enjoy for many Christmases to come.  Bring your own family photos to go where Tim's Christmas paper dolls have been used and make it uniquely yours!

Lighted Snow Scene
Saturday, Nov 23
9 am to 1 pm
$50

Create this wonderful lighted snow scene straight out of a winter wonderland!  Tim Holtz's vignette trays, Christmas Box tops and a tiny snowman you will color and frost will take this treasure over the top!  You'll use modeling paste, glitter and a tiny string of lights to make it all sparkle.  A wonderful gift for someone you love.... if you can bear to give it away!

Vintage Christmas Shadow Box
Saturday, Nov 23
2:30 pm to 6:30 pm
$45

This beautiful shadow box is the perfect complement to the Lighted Snow Scene made in the earlier class.  Using all things Vintage, you'll learn how to add glitter and more to each item used to create this special box.  You can also make this project uniquely yours by using a personal photo where Lisa has used one of the Tim Holtz "found relatives".  Your box will be topped off with candied pines and berries and a bow.  Another wonderful gift.... IF you can bear to part with it!
