Classes!
Well Preview Day was a lovely experience (not that any aren't!). It was filled with our regulars and even a few new people! Even though the Make 'n Take was a little more complicated than most we've done, it went relatively quickly and most people only had to wait on the two ahead of them. I love it when it works out that way. Our friend Cherri showed me a gift card holder made from an envelope. We used paper by Simple Stories and the limited edition stamp set by Impression Obsession. Here's the outside and the inside!
It really was a great idea so I put my spin on it and she helped me get all the parts ready for you. She also did a great job helping Lisa with the enrollment because Adona had other plans for the weekend this month.
Lisa has a great class schedule for November. There is no class the week of Thanksgiving, but then I think we'll all be eating turkey and pumpkin or pecan pie! Here's what she has to offer.....

These lovely cards are made with a variety of interesting techniques. Two of them "pop up" to stand on their own and fold flat for mailing. There are also elements on the other two that are dimensional. Each card is unique. You'll enjoy using the new Tim Holtz Mica Sprays, stamps and dies from Memory Box, Catherine Pooler, Hero Arts and more!
Open Studio - $25

11 am to 3 pm
Since we aren't having Art Journal Saturday this month, I have scheduled Open Studio from 11 am to 3 pm on this particular Saturday. This is a new concept for the studio area. For $25 you can use any of the supplies we have in our Art Journal Saturday stash. There are paints, my rubber stamps, Lisa's stencils, sprays, alcohol inks, art mediums, random papers, and some totally random supplies. All you need to bring is your basic kit and any substrate, art journal or paper you want to play on. I am working on an "all the time" open studio concept for the beginning of next year so stay tuned for details in mid to late December. If you like creating art or experimenting with new materials, this is going to be perfect for you!

FREE Make 'n Take
Preview Day rolls around the 3rd Saturday of every month and I think it's a great tradition. It serves a variety of purposes - to preview next month's classes, visit with friends and enjoy a FREE Make 'n Take (yes, of course I love it when you find things you love to purchase!). In any case I hope you make a tradition of it and share it with your friends too!
Fancy Folded Christmas - $35

Each of these stunning cards uses a different folded technique. The Vintage Christmas collection by Simple Stories is perfect for these and you will find them enchanting. We always love their vintage designs. The colors, the images - what's not to love!? Lisa will provide you with her notes so you will be able to create even more using the same or even different papers.

O My Gosh! Have you seen anything cuter??? I doubt it! Lisa was inspired by tag books she saw made by Andrea Parr on Instagram. She decided to translate the idea into a set of 3 mini cradled boards that can be displayed just about anywhere in your home or office. They will stand on their own or you can hang them on a special wall. You'll use paint, stencils, the Dina Wakley Media Gloss (formally known as Gloss Sprays), modeling paste, die cuts and more! They can be separated and displayed in 3 different places or given to 3 different friends! What can I say? Just take this class!

Please Read Carefully
Class Fees: Class fees are due at the time of enrollment. Lisa takes cash, checks and sends PayPal invoices. If you are in the store when she is here, she can take credit cards. Payment of class fees guarantees your enrollment in class. If you register online, you will receive a confirmation email from the store. You will still need to make arrangements to pay your fees prior to class. "Registrations" are not guaranteed until class fees are paid. Class fees must be paid by the Saturday prior to class or your registration will be cancelled and no kit will be available.
Class Kit: You are required to bring a kit of basic paper crafting supplies. Your kit should include (but is not limited to) such things as a black ink pad, embossing ink pad, your favorite paper glue, favorite adhesive (tape runner or double sided tape), scissors, sponges or daubers for edging, pencil and bone folder. Please feel free to add any other supplies you feel you need for paper crafting. All products needed for your basic kit can be purchased at the store.
