What's new

Something Old and Something New

I was just getting ready to post some pics of new arrivals when I decided to check my email....  Sissix e'd us a flip copy of the new CHA releases.  I didn't see anything new for Tim Holtz so I headed over to his blog to see if he'd mentioned any new dies or texture fades.  He is working on stamps and those of you who keep up with him through his blog already know this.....  BUT....  I am not as faithful to follow and as I scrolled down a bit I found a very useful post about using the Glasseine Stash.....  click here to read all about it.....  I think I might try the photo trick.  Very cool!

And because I said I was going to post some pics of some of the new arrivals..... here they are.....

The Wizard of Oz Halloween collection from Graphic 45 has arrived!  Very cool.... excellent graphics and color.  Matching rubber stamp sets were delayed but on order and will be here soon.....

Taken totally by surprise, Pink Paislee's Daily Junque by House of Three is just the coolest collection we've seen in a while.  A new customer came in looking for a particular piece of the 12x12 paper.  We offered to order it for her.  When we sat down to have a look, we were jazzed!  And apparently some of you were too, cuz nearly all of it has already sold out.  But not to worry....  more stock due in next week!

Really nice 6x6 paper pads from Cosmo Cricket arrived as well.  Odds and Ends is a 50's retro collection.  We have matching 12x12 paper as well.  Great patterns for collage cards and projects.  Circa 1934 is a great companion collection to the Odds and Ends...  the colors are a bit more primary but really good for grunge projects and it's going to be popular.

BASIC GRAY.....  No pictures but the Out of Print collection is great.  We sold out of the 6x6 paper pads and the ephemera packs in 1 hour.  They are on order and should be back in stock next week too.....  The card kits are wonderful and could be used to create all kinds of project, as as well as the cards they were intended to create.

Just a quick note to let you know that we will be closed during the weekend preceeding the 4th.  Lisa has a class on Friday morning, the 1st so we will be open until 2pm.  We will reopen again for normal business hours on Tuesday the 5th....

That's it for now.....  Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!

July 2011 Class Schedule

July 2011 Class Schedule
We have a wonderful class line-up for you in July.  In addition to the special classes being taught by Joni Russell of Mrs. O'Leary's and Dave Brethaur of Memory Box, Lisa has created several wonderful card classes as well as a couple of really cool projects.  Get by soon and sign up for the classes of your choice!

BLUES AND BROWNS - July 7th & 8th
You will make 5 incredible cards using papers from Memory Box's new Valise collection..  You are just gonna love making them!

ARTSY TAGS - Sunday, July 10th
This wonderful class was canceled due to tornadoes and then due to the Memorial Weekend.  So here is the second reschedule class.  Everyone who took this class absolutely had a blast creating them.  Be one them!

This updated version of a class taught several years ago is to die for!  You will use Tim Holtz's new journal cover stamp to make a cover and then you will create three 2 page/4 pocket insert and tags to fill the pockets.  Each 2page/4 pocket insert is made from a single piece of paper that is stamped and folded to make the pockets.....  totally clever and absolutely fun to make!

DEMO DAY - Saturday, July 16th
You know the drill.....  Come and go from 10am to 4pm -- FREE --  FREE Make-it-Take-it -- New August class schedule will be available.  Come and visit with all your friends while you sign up for classes!

Taught by Sherry Schoenfeldt
This class is for the person who wants to learn how to use beeswax on mixed media artwork.  Sherry has taught this class several times and everyone who has taken it has remarked at how much they have learned and how generous Sherry is with her knowledge and experience.  This is a class for beginners.  Please remember you will NOT leave class with a finished project.  You WILL leave with enough knowledge and experience to get started composing your very own special piece of artwork!

This unique card was inspired by a friend and Lisa wanted to share it.  You can use this idea for any occasion celebrating a dated event such as anniversary or graduation.  How about a unique birth announcement?   A gift and a card all rolled up in one pretty package!

For some reason I can't get the photo to load for this one.  I'll try later, but until then.... here is the description...  You will get the Hero Arts clear set called "Just A Note" to make this quick and simple set of notecards.  They are so quick that you will make 6 cards rather than the usual 4.  Perfect to have on hand or perfect for a gift....
Four classes are being taught by Joni Russell of Mrs. O'Leary's which is located in Wichita. Joni is incredibly talented and we have certainly enjoyed her line of unmounted rubber stamps called Artful Illusions. Samples are on display at the store and you can sign up now. Classes are limited to 12 and will fill quickly. Be sure to get by soon if you are interested.

July 30th
These two classes are being taught by Dave Brethaeur of Memory Box. He is very skilled at using colored pencils and all forms of watercolor. These classes are full, but we have a wait list for last minute cancellations if you are interested.

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!

Memory Box Cards

Sometime last year Memory Box started a sweet program called Cardstock of the Month.  We decided to participate and we have really enjoyed it.  Every month we get a card designed by Dave Brethaur featuring a limited edition cardstock that is available for one month only.  The cards are 25 to a pack and although they come without envelopes, they are a great value.  We also get all the stamps and extra papers needed to create these cards.  We currently have a few packs of May's cardstock and June's just arrived.

May Cardstock of the Month

June's Cardstock of the Month

Earlier this year we started receiving Memory Box's new Project of the Month.  Dave designs a fabulous card using their stamps and a cardstock that is always available.  As with the Cardstock of the Month program, we get all the stamps and papers used so you can recreate these cards as well.  We currently have everything you need for May's card and we just received June's card and supplies as well.
