Christmas will be here in a couple of days and the store will close at 2 pm on Wednesday for Christmas and remain closed through January 1st.  But fear not!  We'll be back on the 2nd with a big 2 day sale!

 

I'm really excited to share our January class schedule with you.  It was well received on Saturday during Preview Day.   I failed to nab a photo of the FREE Make 'n Take, but it was definately a hit!

 

Here's the schedule for January.

 

Winter Blues - $35

Thursday, January 8

10:30 am OR 6 pm

 

  Start the New Year off with some lovely winter blue cards.  Not the "blues", but the beautiful blue feel of snowy winter days.  Perfect for any occasion, you'll use markers, watercolor, ink pads and shimmer sprays to create the feel of quiet winter days.  Penny Black stamps are just perfect for these serene cards.

 

2026 Calendar Book/Journal - $40

Graphic 45's "Journaling Through the Year" paper collection is perfect for this book that can be used as a journal scheduling calendar or perpetual calendar book.  Since it is bound by the "disc" system, you can add pages without taking the book apart.  The store now has a Cinch Multi Punch so you can punch additional papers at a later date.  This makes a great gift too!

Valentine/Friendship Cards - $35

More Penny Black stamps!  They make such beautiful Valentine or friendship cards.  This is a "sharpen" your watercolor skills class so come prepared to spend a little extra time.  They go together easily and look so professional.  You'll be using watercolor by Altenew, inks and Tombow markers.  You'll love giving these cards to your favorite friends!

 

Art Journal Saturday - $20

Get ready for some fun!  I'm teaching this time and I used a list of prompts to get started.  I have had such fun working on this one.  There is an interactive piece, a hidden pocket, and tag/envelope pieces.  You do not have to use a hand, but it is fun. I will show you an option if you don't want to do the flipping piece.  Although I am not quite finished with everything I want to add, you can stop where I did to display it for Preview Day or go as far as I will when I finish it over the holidays.  The afternoon class is full, but there are still seats left in the morning class.

 

Master Page - $35

It's back by request! We all love creating master pages and they are so handy when you want to create a unique card background.  They work well for mixed media projects too!  Lisa will have a follow up project for February that you can use your master page to create.  If you don't want to use yours, she will be happy to provide a copy of hers for an additional $5 upcharge.

Class Schedule

 

We had a great Preview Day.  The "Live @ 7:45" Preview of Preview Day went off without a hitch.  The tables were laden with fabulous Christmas finds and the Make 'n Take was fun and easy! 

This gift card holder is easy to make using an envelope and scrapbook paper! The envelope gives it stability and you only have to score the side folds. There's a little work scoring all the folds of the scrapbook paper used, but all in all, it's fun to make and not at all hard.

Lisa's December schedule is short and sweet.  The Christmas season is quite busy this year so I know she and I both need some time off.  We'll be taking at least a week off after Christmas, but we'll be back with an energy boost that only time off can give!

Joy at Christmas Cradled Board - $40

Oh Joy!  I love this piece, don't you?  It's a 6x12 cradled board and would be great displayed on an easel or hung on a wall.  And I think it would be lovely all year 'round to remind us of the JOY Christmas brought to the world when Jesus came to live among us and complete the task of salvation for all!  Paper from the Simple Stories "Believe" collection creates a fun background and is completed by the addition of stamped trees and die cut deer on top of the die cut word "Joy".  The snow covered twig makes a perfect anchor.  This one is just as much fun to make as it is beautiful!

 

Annual Christmas Gift Tags - $40

Our friend Adona suggested this to Lisa so many years ago that we can't even remember when.  Of course it became a tradition because who doesn't need last minute gift tags for all the last minute wrapping!?  This year Lisa has found so many images to use that it was hard to decide which ones would make the cut!  Anyway, I think you'll have lots of fun making these and probably decide to make more when you get home!

Class Schedule

 

We had such a sweet day on Saturday.  It was, of course, the October Preview Day with a FREE Make 'n Take.  I take full blame for the fact that it went waaaaay slower than expected.  You just can't plan for the chaos that ocurred that day!  Still, we had fun and the Make was a hit.  

 

 

  

Background was made using the smoosh, spritz and drag technique with the new Tim Holtz mini Oxide ink pads.  Leaves are Tim Holtz stamps and the sentiment is from Catherine Pooler.

 

Lisa's November class schedule is short and sweet.  There are only 3 weeks for classes this month due to the Thanksgiving week holidays.  She has created a stellar selection of card classes and I am sure you'll want to take all three!

 

Exploring Oxide Cubes - $35

The Make 'n Take was just a preview of what you can do with the Oxide cubes!  Come learn a variety of ways those cubes can be used to make the exciting cards in this class. The cubes come packed in color palettes that make it even easier! You'll want to make more of them when you experience how quick and easy these cards can come together! 

 

Quick & Easy Christmas - $35

The Spellbinders collection of BetterPress LetterPress plates is growing by leaps and bounds.  You'll have fun learning how to use them to create the professional look of the letter press system of printing.  The cardstocks used in this class are absolutely gorgeous and you'll be excited to send these cards to special family or friends.

Most of you know how much fun Preview Day is. We load our classroom tables with new product and share a FREE Make 'n Take with you.  I get on Facebook and do a "Live @ 7:45 am" preview of the Preview Day tables and tell you of any specials.  This month was filled with unusual video catastrophies, but all in all, we got it done!  Feel free to bring a friend or two with you to share in all the fun!

Check out this group of cards!  Penny Black and PinkFresh stamps and dies along with beautiful papers go together in a dynamic way.  The plaid papers are so beautiful and that gold shimmer paper is a crowd favorite. Lisa had one more art journal spread started.  We said last month would be the last one for the year, but she's just couldn't wait.  It wasn't finished so she will get that ready and we'll post the pic later.  Trust me!  Her art journal pages have a special quality about them you just have to create with her!

Awesome! Awesome! Preview Day.  I am certain that everyone had a great time and as usual we had a great Make 'n Take for everyone to enjoy.

 

 

Stamps and dies are the "Flavors of Fall" from Catherine Pooler.  I love the addition of the "Vines for Retangles" die used for the base layer that we stamped on.  Catherine Pooler's wonderful ink pads provided the juicy color!  The paper is from Simple Stories.

Lisa has a great class schedule for you in October.  I do believe you'll find at least one and probably more that you'll love.  Let's explore that schedule!

We are having a hard time keeping up with Penny Black's monthly releases, but you'll love what Lisa chose for this beautiful set of cards! Halloween Treat Fold Out - $30

Oh my!  The new 49 & Market Vintage Orchard paper collection is stunning!  This paper just begged for a piece of hanging art.  An 11x14 canvas is filled with all kinds of collaged and layered images. The die is called "Edged Wildflower" made by Altenew.  The Tim Holtz "squish & spritz" technique created a beautiful blue mottled background and the Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz gave it pizazz!

 Preview Day Saturday was filled with loads of fun and laughter.  Our Make 'n Take was a hit and we had lots of new items for people to shop.  If you didn't make it by, come see what's new!

I am having so much fun with this one and I think you will too.  We all know that I love collage and the background in this one is amazing (at least I think so (lol)!  So amazing that I could not bear to add color to the heart.  I will have a colored heart sample so you can see what it would look like if you want to color yours!  As always, this is about guiding you into creating your very own unique piece of art based on what we do. 

Pop It Up! - $35

Ah Dina!  Our wonderful friend, Dina Wakley gifted Lisa with one of her sample popup tags when she was here to teach in June.  Not one to be left in the dust, Lisa jumped into creating one using Dina's new bear stamps and 3 more.  All three are birthday themed.  This is a class that teaches you one technique with endless possibilities.  So much fun!

House Mouse is Back! - $35

Stampendous has new House Mouse and we are excited to be using them again. You'll create a Fall, Halloween & Christmas card in this class.  These detailed stamps have always been loved and the detail is exquisite.  These cards are sure to delight anyone who receives one.  As a bonus, you'll receive a pre-stamped Christmas House Mouse to take home.  

 

Zig Zag Book - $40

This unique "zig zag" book is perfect to use for special notes, photos or memories.  It is filled with tags, pockets and clips and can be used in so many different ways.  This book is made with paper from the Color Swatch collection by 49 and Market.  It is exceptionally heavy and will stand up to a lot of abuse.  It would make a lovely gift for a special friend.
