What a great time we had Demo Day.  We created a beautiful "man" card that could be used for Father's Day or Birthday.  Many thanks to Impression Obsession for providing this fabulous Make-It-Take-It!

Man Cards

Just in time for Father's Day! Man cards is the card class for the men in your world.  You'll make six fabulous masculine cards, and depending on how many you need for Father's Day, you'll have a few left over for the next manly occasion you encounter.

Gelli Cards

Ready to Gelli?  Here is your chance to begin using the printing plate that's taking the internet craft world by storm!  This class will expand your technique arsenal in a way you never thought possible.  Jump in!  Printing has never been more fun. You will need a 6x6  or 8x10 Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate (available here), a brayer and only a few of your favorite acrylic paints (Dina Wakley's acrylic paints are just perfect for this process).

I am to blame for this fab group of cards.  I saw a cool idea with watercolor art on Pinterest that just sparked a card idea.  Lisa is just the best at understanding what I'm thinking and here it is....  Stamping and coloring images on top of book paper.  Maybe not totally a new idea, but man oh man.....  is this cool or what?  Just thank me by taking this class....  come on - you know you want to!

Artsy, Whimsical, Bright & Bold!  That's what this creative project has going on.  You will use all kinds of product - paper, stencils, paints, sprays, tapes and more.  So much fun!

There is so much fun on June's schedule.  If you couldn't make it to Demo Day, run down soon to see the samples and enroll in the class(es) of your choice.  Heck!  Make your friends run down with you and sign up too!  The more the merrier I always say.....

Remember that payment of class fees at the time of enrollment guarantees your seat in class.  A basic kit of supplies is required.  If you need to know what is included, call the store (509-6788 or send me or Lisa an email (me - maura@myheartsfancyok.com or Lisa - lbruno7754@aol.com) and we'll get that information to you.

What's Happening.....

What's the Buzz?

 

Did I get your attention?  Hope so.....  We've got a lot going on this month and I hope you will be joining us for as much of it as you can.....

 

Just a reminder about the Jen Starr classes on September 25th.  You will seriously enjoy Jen.  She has been trained by the great Sir Tim Holtz.  You won't need a thing for these classes (well, maybe one or two things).  She packs everything and these classes are gonna be swell!  Class information can be found on the Jen Starr Classes post.

 

 

Kelley Walker is teaching her first class in the House and I for one am really excited.  Her class, "Sweet and Easy Stamp Making", is scheduled for Saturday, Sept 22nd. If you have ever wanted to learn how to carve your own stamps, this is the class for you.  You will make 2 stamps and a project.   There are only a few openings left, so call to reserve your spot now. 

EEK!  ALTERED BOOK

This class is next week and filled up so fast Lisa added another class to the schedule.....  Interested?  It's scheduled for next Tuesday (the 11th) at 6pm.  Call the store now if you want to take this one.  It is already half full!

This is Labor Day weekend - Duh!  Well, I need an extra day off so here's the deal.....  I'm gonna have a special sale from 6pm to 10pm.  The store will be closed from 2pm to 6pm to get ready.  At 6 you can storm the door and grab your bargains.

 

Items previously marked down will be an additional 50% off.  There will be a scad of newly marked down items.  You can have 20% off all regularly marked items.

JEN  STARR

 

I've been looking for an opportunity to bring in a guest artist this fall and Jen just happened to fall into our lap.  A class cancellation on her fall tour enabled us to snag her.

 

 

Jen is a fully Certified and Ranger Recognized Instructor.  She works with well known manufacturers including 7 Gypsies, Stampers Anonymous, Faber Castell, Basic Grey and Prima.  She recently designed Tattered Angels 2012 Spring and Summer Limited Edition Glimmer Mists. 

 

Jen has created some wonderful mixed media classes and we will be offering the following.

 

 

 

Life is Beautiful Gate Book

Fee: $45

 

 

 

 

This is an 8x9 chipboard gate book with flipping and folding interactive pages inside.  You will work with die cuts from both Tim Holtz and Memory Box.  You will also use Distress Inks, Gesso and Crafter's Workship Templates by Dyan Reaveley.  AND you will get to use some of Jen's favorite Glimmer Mist colors from the Spring/Summer Limited Edition collection.  The focus of this class is inky techniques and book construction. 

 

 

Steampunk Montage

The inspiration for this double 8x10 canvas wall hanging comes from Tim Holtz.  It is full of texture, inks, stamps, Idea-ology, Sizzix dies, UTEE and more.  

 

 

Imagine the Possibilities Mini-Book 

Fee: $45

 

 

 

This little book is packed with techniques!  You will focus on an easy stitched book binding technique.  You will work with Distress Stains.  You will use Idealogy embellishments, Sticky Back canvas, Tim Holtz stamps and texture fades, fabrics and Stickles.  When done, it will be ready to be filled with photos or maybe some art journaling....
