Special Ordering

Every once in a while our suppliers do something very special that we get to share with you.  Today we were notified that we can share with you a "What's New" catalog of products that you can browse. 

See something you like?   Let us know and we can order it for you immediately.  We love this capability and used it with the  Fall 2011 Spellbinder catalog.  You have seen it on the sidebar.  You click on it and you are able to view the entire catalog (it's still an active link, so feel free to browse it as well).  The catalog will be available on the sidebar from now on, but you can click "What's New"  now to view it.  This catalog is filled with things that were released at the Spring CHA show.  You will notice a number of great product lines.  We may not stock it, but we can get it for you anytime!

DISTRESS MARKERS

 

I've had quite a few questions about Tim Holtz's new Distress Markers.  What do you do with them?  Do they match the Distress pads or stains?  Can you use them on stamps?  Tim himself can answer these questions best so I will turn you over to the video.....

I'm glad I watched that video!  Answers all my questions.... now if I only had time to play with a few of them.

Oh yes.... we got the project of the month and the cardstock of the month in today.  The cards are very nice....  Take a look.....

Project of the Month

Love the new dragonfly die.  Hard to see the wings, but they were cut from acetate and then glittered on the back.  Very nice.  All supplies needed are available right here at My Heart's Fancy!

Limited Edition Cardstock of the Month

It's hard to tell but the cardstock is the most lucious shade of yellow/green called "lettuce".  You get 25 cards in a pack. Once it's gone, it's gone.....  And those dies!  Shut the Door Dave!  I'm always in awe of the dies Dave creates and the exciting ways he uses them.  All suppies available for this card as well.

Just a Little News

DISTRESS PADS

Just want to update you on the new Spring Distress Pads from Tim Holtz.  Looks like they will be here and available for purchase on SATURDAY.    However, sometimes shipments don't arrive on time, so please call if you are coming out just to pick up a set.  And as I will be out of town, please be kind to my volunteer helper.  Of course they are limited edition, so don't let too much time go by before you get by to pick up a set.  Also, Distress Reinkers for all Limited Edition Pads will be available.  We ordered a limited quantity of those as well so if you need one or two, let me know which colors you want. 

MBOSSIBILITIES & the VAGABOND

One of the newest items we now have in stock are Mbossibilities by Spellbinders.   A few customers had expressed an interest in them so we took a look at them.  They are really nice and you get two embossible designs on one folder.  You simply turn it inside out for the second design.  If you are using them with the Vagabond or Sizzix machines you will need to use an embossing pad and a couple of pieces of cardstock in place of your top plate.  We will have the embossing pads in stock by the end of next week.

NEW TIM HOLTZ DIES

The new Tim Holtz dies are slowly beginning to trickle in.  This week we got the new WordPlay Alphabet, In the Bag and the Tag & Tie dies in.  The Wordplay alphabet is really fun and I can see a plethora of cute gifts made from the In the Bag die.  Love the new size tag the Tag & Tie die makes and who couldn't resist the little breadbag tie?

Spring Distress & Plant a Kiss

Yes, you see correctly....  Tim has a new Limited Edition Distress set available.  We have them on order and expect to see them in the next 7 days.  I'll let you know right here when they arrive so you can run over and get yours!

YEP!  You spoke up and Ranger listened.  You can now purchase reinkers for all your Limited Edition Distress Pads.  We have a limited number of all of them on order.  Let me know if you want any or all.....

PLANT  A  KISS  PROJECT

A couple of days ago our good friend Kelley, whose blog is  One January Day, asked me if I would help her out with a project.  Of course, it's Kelley, so why wouldn't I?  Anyhoo.... It's the Plant a Kiss Project started by Amy Rosenthal, author of the book, Plant a Kiss.  Here's a preview of the book.....

Kelley has left a basket filled with fortune cookie "kisses".  We invite you to come by and pick up a bag of 2 kisses.... keep one kiss and pass one on!  Let's spread the Kindness!  Then on May 1st you can go to Simply Celebrate to see how other writers and artists have spread the Kindness!

I know I say this almost every month, but really... Lisa's classes get better and better each month.  So consider myself repeated when I say "These are AWESOME"!  And if you think you can't make them look just like hers... THINK again!  Lisa is an amazing teacher.... so calm and so helpful. Your projects or cards will be so well crafted you will blush when your friends tell you that you are amazing.....

But, I digress.....  Without further ado, here is the class schedule for May.

Mother's Day or Any Day

May 1st & 4th

This group of cards is perfect for Mother's Day or Any Day as the title suggests.  The theme is floral.

"Sing" Canvas (Repeat)

This class filled quickly and is being repeated for those of you who were unable to get into April's class.  Quick and easy, you will enjoy creating this special canvas.

Simply Paris Canvas

You will create this canvas using a new paper doll kit from Catherine Moore of Character constructions.  You will need to purchase the paper doll kit (available here at My Heart's Fancy).  All other supplies will be provided.

Nature's Delight Cards

You will learn a couple of fresh new ways to make cards in this class.  See a die cut in a new way and use an old pull out technique in a new way.

New Way She Art Canvas

People have asked me to teach the canvases I have created to show how products can be used.  Those of you who know me know I don't teach classes....  It is just not my talent.  Lisa and I sat down one afternoon and created these two canvases.  You can see how different, yet alike they are.  You will get to create your very own personalized version of these canvases in the class so be prepared to stretch your artistic wings. 

What Not Box

May 29 & June 1

What you see here is ready for completion.  You will assemble and embellish this What Not box from a chest box kit from Kaiser Kraft and a variety of papers and stickers from Graphic 45.  You will embellish it in your own special way using a sheet of stickers and collage sheet from Graphic 45. This is the class for those of you who want to make projects like this but just never seem to "get 'round to-it".  Make this class a date and "get 'round to-it"!

Remember to bring your basic kit to classes.  If you don't know what you should have, give us a call and we'll help you get one together.  Class fees must be paid in advance to hold your seat.*

Spring Swap

We had a great time at Demo Day last Saturday.  Lisa's Make-It-Take-It was a stunning little card using Tim Holtz's new diffusers, texture trade, and a cute little birdhouse stamp from Unity Stamps.   Here's a photo of it.... phone photo so please excuse the lack of quality!

SPRING SWAP....  Oh mY!  What incredible pennants everyone made.  Every one of them was so unique.  It's always such a treat for me to photo and swap them all out.  You can see them in the 2012 Spring Swap Album of our Facebook Page.

CLASS SCHEDULE  will be posted tomorrow.... hopefully by 6pm.  Photos are done, but not edited.  I better snap to it!

spring  swaps

If you picked up the banner/pennant template for the spring swap..... your swaps are due this Saturday.  We have had a few turned in already and they are marvelous....  Can't wait to see them all!  We will have them ready for you to  pick-up on Demo Day (a week from this Saturday).  If you mail them to me, I will mail them back if you can't come by to pick them up.
