We really had a great Demo Day Saturday.  We saw some "old" (as in long time) friends we don't see often and we met some new ones.  Old and New are a great combo.  And it keeps me smiling!

Anyhoo.....  with Joanne Sharpe coming to teach this Friday through Sunday, I've got to get the next class schedule posted. And if you didn't know about Joanne's great workshops, check out the July 31st post.  Just in case you are interested, there are a few spots left in the Saturday and Sunday morning classes so be sure to let me know pronto if you want to enroll.

Create a creepy 3D Halloween treasure out of an old book!  Lots of techniques and lots of fun.  After you've done this one, you'll be creating them for all your holidays (only they won't be creepy).....

It's time to get started on those Christmas cards.  These beauties are fun and creative.  Lots of different styles to spark your card-making juices!

Configuration boxes make the most wonderful altered art.  Let Lisa teach you how to make this vintage inspired box using dies, glitter, embellishments and paper.  You can even use one of your own vintage family photos in place of the one you see in the photo above.  Lots of fun in this project!

We have had overwhelming requests for Lisa to teach the turkey canvas I created from leftover fall papers I couldn't bear to throw away.  Lisa's recreation with fresh and exciting BoBunny papers is outstanding.  If you've have been wanting to learn how to do paper piece collaging, this is the project for you.  It's so simple - really, it is!

MONOPRINT JOURNALING - $55

You've been hearing about the Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate for some time now.  It's the perfect tool for mono-printing without the mess or expense of traditional mono-printing.  Kelley is our resident expert and she returns to teach you how to make this sweet journal from Gel monoprints you will make in class.  You will need a Gelli Arts Plate, but if you want to try it before you buy it, Kelley has a few to share.

Learn how to make this beautiful "charm" bracelet using Tim Holtz fragment charms and a 12x12 piece of Vintage Santa scrapbook paper from Kaisercraft.  It's so easy you'll want to make one for every holiday and one for all your friends too!

Wonderful classes!  Something for everyone I say!   Remember class fees are due at the time of enrollment.  Refunds or class credit available for cancellations received 2 full  business days before the class is scheduled.  Basic class kits are required (call if you are new to our classes and we will help you with the list of supplies needed). Lisa will email you the week of class with a list of any other items you need or might wish to bring.

Mini One Page Book

Oh so cute and oh so quick.  You will make this teensy tiny book from one piece of 12x12 paper.  So sweet.

As always you will need to bring your basic kit to class....  This includes scissors, ruler, heat tool, craft sheet, pencil, black ink pad, embossing ink pad, exacto knife, tweezers & anything else you would find handy on your craft table.  These are the things that are difficult to wait for when you really need them.

Call the store (405-509-6788) or drop by to enroll in the class(es) of your choice.  Payment of class fees is required at the time of enrollment and guarantees your seat in class.

The Shop Hop

We really had fun Saturday.  There was so much going on....  Demo Day with all it's charms... Make-It-Take-It, Lisa's class debut and the Shop Hop.  Take a look at the beautiful card Impression Obsession provided for our Make-It-Take-It!

Kelley Walker played the part of Lisa.  She really enjoyed herself and I hope those who took advantage of our Make-It-Take-It did as well.  Melinda did a great job with Lisa's class registrations.  Thanks so much Kelley and Melinda!

Shop Hop 2013

The final day for the Shop Hop was Saturday as well....  Everyone had one last day to make it to all 5 of the participating shops.  When all was done, Anna from Paper Arts quickly called all of us for the list of those who turned in their Passports....  She drew the winning Grand Prize name and I am please to tell you that Juli Wilhite was the lucky recipient.  Her home store is Scrapbook Alley.  Here is a picture of the Grand Prize basket she will receive from The Collins Group (one of our favorite rep groups) who graciously donated the basket for our event.

Halloween Tag Swap

Lots of you requested a Halloween swap.  A quick poll of the people revealed a desire to work with the large tags.  If you want to participate, come by and pick up a pack.  Tags are due on October 12 and your batch will be returned to you on Demo Day, October 19.

Gelli Arts Print Making

Ever heard of gelatin plate printing?  Neither had I until I saw the Gelli Arts Gel Print Plate and some of what you can create with it.  Our Good Friend, Kelley Walker returns with another "gotta take it" class.  She will walk you through the process of printing with the Gel Print Plate.  When you have finished, you will assemble the sweet shoji-style accordian book pictured above AND you will go home with your very own Gel Print Plate!

Lisa has a thing for old doors (well, so do I).  Her daughter took a trip to Guatamala and shot some very interesting doors.  A recent Somerset publication included an article featuring pendants with old doors sandwiched between mica tiles.  Put this all together and voila'..... class!  These are very cool.  You know you want to make them for yourself and all your friends!
