September 2022 Classes

We had a great day Saturday previewing all of Lisa's September classes.  Our Halloween Free Make 'n Take was a hit as well.  Check it out.....

The web stamped in the background and the spiders are from Impression Obsession.  The sequins are from Catherine Pooler.  We did sell out of the sequins but will be getting more in early next week.  It's a great slimline card.

Lisa has a great line up for you in September.  If you didn't make it by Saturday, do drop by for a look.  I am pretty sure you'll want to take at least one class and I imagine there will be more than one.

The Schedule!

Trick or Treat Cards - $35
Thursday, September 8
10:30 OR 6 pm

Halloween will be here before you know it, right?  You'll enjoy making these cards using stamps from Catherine Pooler, Hero Arts & Impression Obsession.  There are two cards made using slimline cards which just goes to show you that you don't have to use them as a slimline design!  Let Lisa show you how easy it is!  You'll be glad you did!

Art Journal Saturday - $20 + $7 kit fee (this class only)
Saturday, September 10
9 am OR 1:30 pm

PHOTO TO COME

I have been asked so many times about presenting a color wheel class.  Most people want to know how to avoid "mud".  So I am going to do just that.  It may turn into a series, but this one will be all about "mud".  We will make a small journal and then create a color wheel using the "modern" primary colors of primary cyan, primary magenta and primary yellow.  These modern day printing colors will give you vibrant, exciting colors as well as lovely muted shades and tints.  We will then proceed to make mud and explore all the possibilities that make mud.  If there is time we will do a simple monochromatic "mud" composition.  With any luck this lesson will be as clear as day instead of mud!

Christmas Joy - $35
Thursday, Sept 15
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Use this class to get yourself started early on your Christmas cards.  New stamps from Penny Black are used for these wonderful cards.  Lisa will do her stamp once, create 2 cards trick again.  Water coloring with Tombows and Distress mini ink cubes will make these cards stand out from all the rest!

Preview Day - FREE
Saturday, September 17
10 am to 4 pm
Come and Go

Come preview the October class schedule.  Samples will be on display and you can enroll in the classes of your choice while you are here.  Enjoy a FREE Make 'n Take.  Browse the newest products to have arrived in the shop.  Grab a friend and share the fun!

Quick and Easy Fabric Tape Cards - $30
Thursday, September 22
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Fabric tape you say?  Yes!  49th & Market has created a beautiful set of fabric "washi" tapes.  There are 4 in a box (which includes a special cutter) of various sizes.  You will want to make more of these when you see how beautiful they are and how quick they go together.  There are also some acetate pieces that coordinate beautifully with this tape and they are added to some of the cards to give them that extra zing!

You've Been Booed! - $35
Sunday, September 25
2 pm

A few years ago a neighborhood tradition was started.  I think it started with Halloween but goes something like the May Day flower tradition.  You drop a holiday gift at the house of a neighbor with an appropriate message - in this case, "You've Been Booed!".  Instructions for continuing the gifting to another neighbor are included as well as a door sign to put out that you have already been booed.  Lisa has created another loaded pocket to use for just this occasion.  It has a banner decoration for the big pocket and an accordion book and the instructions for the other pocket.  This is really a perfect item for this tradition.  Once you have done one, you could do one for everyone in your family.

Distress Spray Backgrounds - $35
Thursday, September 29
10:30 am OR 6 pm

Learn a brand new way to make beautiful background papers.  You'll make 4 or 5 11"x15" watercolor papers using sprays and stencils.  Oh my goodness!  This is going to be one valuable class as you will find these papers so versatile in your card making as well as your art making!
