Our good friend Joanne Sharpe is returning to teach 4 wonderful workshops.  Joanne loves her "Okie" peeps and she is always so excited to come teach us something new.

This year she has created a couple of classes just for us! Check out what she's teaching this time around.....

FINALLY FIND YOUR FONT!

Joanne keeps telling you to use your own "handwriting" to make stylized lettering.  In this supercharged class you will learn FIVE new design and drawing techniques to easily transform your own cursive and printing into a signature font that is unique to you.  Use lettering grids, pens and watercolors to try your hand at new looks.  Letter your favorite works, sayings or scripture verse with illustrated simple imagery on 8 small watercolor cards as art ready to display.

SUPPLIES you need to bring:  pencil, eraser, black waterproof fine line pens (Microns, Pitt, Uniball), your favorite colorful markers (any brand you have - Tombow, Copic), small watercolor pan set (Koi, Prang, Prima Confections), waterbrush.  PAPER: Bring 8 pieces of 4-1/2" x 6" watercolor paper cut from a 9" x 12" Strathmore 300 series (yellow cover) Watercolor pad (it will take 2 sheets).

NEW CLASS!  Create a 6x6 felted and embellished, solf sculptured decorative pillow using stencils to create the design and pattern.  Enjoy combining wool and fiber textures while learning some new hand felting and simple stitching tricks.  Joanne and Maura will provide stencils to use along with complimentary threads and additional embellishments.  You'll actually go home with a finished piece of textile art!  

SUPPLIES you need to bring:  A small pair of embroidery/sewing scissors, #18 chenille needle, and a black fine tip Pitt or Micron pen, foam felting block, 2 pieces of 6x6 wool felt, a small (gallon size zip lock) bag of colorful wool roving, decorative yarns and (Clover brand) hand felting needle tool or a single needle tool if you already have one, several favorite 6x6 stencils.

OPTIONAL Wool Felting Kit- $30
Includes Clover felting tool, foam felting block, #18 chenille needle, two 6x6 pieces of wool felt, assortment of wool roving and other fibers).  Please let me know when you enroll if you will want this kit.

"IT'S A DOODLE LIFE" JOURNAL ART

NEW CLASS!  Joanne will bring her new book "Doodle Art and Lettering" (ships in early March) to preview.  Play with dozens of new art ideas and techniques.  Explore organic, loose, free form meditative doodling, inspirational lettering and whimsical drawings.  If you think you "can't draw", this is the class where you will soar!  We'll make a precious 3" x 5", embellished handmade journal book stuffed with colorful art and treasure.  You'll be the first to see the new book, hear all the secrets and take this brand new class.

SUPPLIES you need to bring:  pencil, eraser, black waterproof fine line pens (Microns, Pitt, Uniball), Tombow markers, colored pencils, small watercolor pan set (Koi, Prang, Prima Confections), water brush.  Bring 4 strips of waterpaper cut to 3" x 10". Come explore artful bible journaling, illustrating your favorite scripture verses and making a prayer journal, Joanne style!  We'll practice lettering styles and discover specific art supplies, techniques and ideas for honoring the Word with all our art materials by using the creative gifts each of us has been given.  Enjoy a fun, whimsical day in the spirit with friends celebrating our faith made visible in expressive works of art.

Supplies you need to bring: A journaling Bible (with columns for writing) or a blank art journal (such as Dylusions, Strathmore Visual Journal or Moleskine).  Gather a small collection of your favorite markers, pens, colored pencils and watercolors and we will provide the rest. Suggested pens are Micron/Pitt black fine tip waterproof.


ENROLLMENT is now open.  You may enroll by email, phone, or in person at the store.

CLASS FEES: Class fees are due within 48 hours of enrollment. You may pay by cash, check, credit card or I will send Paypal invoices if you are unable to come by the store.  

CANCELLATION POLICY: Refunds are available for cancellations received prior to February 22.  There will be no refunds after that date.  If you cannot attend your workshop, you may gift or sell your workshop to a friend.  If the workshops are cancelled by us for any reason, your class fees will be refunded.
