Our BFF Joanne Sharpe is returning to teach 3 new and wonderful workshops.  In addition, we are planning a fun "Meet & Greet" open house before our 1st class begins on Friday.

I have always enjoyed Joanne's whimsical lettering style and I have to tell you that she has been a big influence on my own personal lettering style.  Joanne teaches you to use the hidden talents you already have but didn't know you had.  It's always a fun time and she has a special place in her heart for her "Okie Peeps"!

Meet & Greet Book Signing Party

Come meet Joanne at a Book Signing Party.  Bring your own copy of her books (or purchase one here at the event) and she'll autograph them!  We'll have "special refreshments" (frito chili pie and rotel cheese dip - it's a tradition). And time permitting, Joanne will do a free stitching demo.  You don't have to take a class to take advantage of this fun time.

Art Journal OR Needle Book

Epic art with color, texture and fibers.  Let's paint and stitch with fluffy wool and threads!  This new class is a huge hit, fresh from Joanne's new book.  Come create a yummy and practical art journal book, or a needle book, using wool roving and colorful threads.  Learn needle felting basics and decorative hand stitching to embellish the perfect place for recording your thoughts as a journal, or a handy spot for needles and pins.

Supplies needed*:  Hand felting tool, #24 chenille needles, 3-5 colors of wool roving, #5 pearl cotton in 3-5 favorite colors, 2 pieces of white craft felt, and a foam felting base.  *A kit containing all these supplies will be available for purchase (approximate cost $25-30).*

Come get some BRAND NEW lettering ideas and explore Joanne's bestselling "The Art of Whimsical Lettering" book.  Create a journal using her favorite lettering techniques as this book tour continues.  This is a NEW workshop for 2016 with new ideas from the book.  We will discover and embrace lettering ideas and samples while learning "artful lettering" style secrets using pens, markers and creative tools as we make a playful resource for lettering practice.  Create a composition book journal of practice pages, lettering styles, inspirational samples, quotes and sayings.  Focus on identifying your own distinct lettering preferences, composition and aesthetically pleasing pages.

Supplies needed: Wide ruled, school grade hard cover composition book, your favorite lettering markers, small watercolor (pans) set, black pens, alcohol markers (Copic, Prismacolor, Kaiserfusion, etc), black waterproof pens like Micron or Pitt, pencil, eraser, glue stick.  YOU WILL need a copy of Joanne's book "The Art of Whimsical Lettering.  It will be available for purchase here at a 10% discount.

Of course you've heard that coloring books are the hottest craze!  Create with simple doodle art techniques to make your own coloring book journal with illustrations, alphabets and lettering using pens and markers and your own doodles.  Learn a NEW whimsical alphabet, fun and funky drawing techniques from Joanne to make an elaborate illustrated "Whimsey Words and Quotes" journal.  Take home 5 exclusive handouts to inspire the designs for your own themed alphabets using drawing and coloring techniques.  Bring ONE 3-5 word quote or verse to illustrate.  No drawing experience required.  Really!  She will empower your creativity with simple black and white imagery and stunning lettering that will burst in color.  This class is hot, hot, hot!!!

Supplies Needed:  Bring your favorite coloring markers like Tombow Dual Brush, Copic, Sakura Coloring Brush, pencil and eraser, colored pencils set (Prismacolor or Prima), black, fine line, permanent pigment ink pens like Pitt "S", "F" and "M" tips or Micron .01, .03, and .08, and a 9x12" Strathmore BRISTOL paper pad (available at My Heart's Fancy).

Class fees are due at the time of enrollment.  4 ways to pay!  Cash, Check, Credit Card or Paypal.  Refund policy:  Full refund for cancellations received prior to midnight, Friday, June 17.  50% refunds for cancellations received prior to midnight, June 21st.  No refunds after June 21st.  If you are unable to attend your class(es) you may gift or sell your class to a friend.
