How To

I thought I would share the Demo Day Make-it-Take-it for those of you who were unable to make it. As you can see, it was a pretty cool card for Halloween.  Change the greeting on the front and it could be a great howdy/birthday card for a gentleman friend, son or husband.

Manila Card Stock
Patterned paper by Authentique
Owl/clock stamp by LaBlanche
Black Onyx Versafine ink pad

Clear embossing powder
Distress Stains: Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade, and Fired Brick
Halloween Greeting Stamp (not shown)
  1. Ink Owl/clock stamp and greeting stamp in Black Onyx Versafine.  Stamp on Manila cardstock and emboss with clear embossing powder.
  2. Apply Antique Linen Distress Stain directly to paper over the owl.
  3. Apply Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain directly to paper over the rest of the design being careful to avoid the owl.
  4. Apply Fired Brick Distress Stain directly to paper avoiding clock & owl.
  5. Distress outer edges of orange card with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink Pad.
  6. Cut patterned paper smaller than the card and glue to the card.
  7. Cut out stamped/inked owl design and glue on top of the patterned paper.
  8. Repeat steps 6 & 7 with greeting and glue to lower right corner area of the card.
Hope you enjoy making this card.  It really is a fun way to use Distress Inks.  If you would like to learn more about Distress Inks you may visit the Ranger site by clicking HERE.

Class Schedule

September 2011 Class Schedule

What a month!  Hopefully things are back to normal for me and Lisa.  Life happens when you least expect it.  Anyway we had a great Demo Day on Saturday and Lisa has put together a great set of classes for you.  Come by to see them in person and sign up for you favorites (of course, they will ALL be your favorites!  LOL)

Cutest group of Halloween cards you've ever seen!  All are easier than they look.  Guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face!

September 10th
A 3 hour workshop that teaches you the basics of beeswax application and techniques.  This class is limited to 5 and sells out every time.  We have started a wait list and you will be contacted if there is a cancellation or if an additional class can be scheduled.

September 13 & 16
The cutest canvas you ever did see.  The 3 girls from the BFF canvas make a comeback dressed as witches for this project.  You'll love it!

Saturday, September 17th
It's always FREE!  Always a FREE Make-it-Take-it!  Always a NEW class schedule!  Always more fun than a barrel of monkeys!  Really?  You Bet!

September 20 & 23
It's never too early to start on your Christmas cards.  Really, it isn't!  Think of how many you send and you'll be glad you started early......  Lot's of new techniques here and oh so easy.....

September 24
This is the next step in Beeswax work.  You will need Experiments in Beeswax under your belt before you tackle this class. Although it too is sold out, we do have a wait list started in case there is a cancellation.

September 27 & 30
Lisa received the cutest card for her birthday from one of our favorite customers.  She also gave her the directions so you know Lisa.....  Grunge is one of her favorite themes and this is the result.  You will be using Spellbinder dies, Artful Illusions Stamps and Tim Holtz embellishments.  Sure to be a hit with your "grungy" friends or the card you need for your man friend.

I'll post the Demo Day card later.  It is oh so cool.

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!

Artful Illusions & Memory Box Fun

My Heart's Fancy

Many of you were privileged to be able to take the classes that Joni of Mrs. O'Leary's and Dave of Memory Box taught. We all had a blast.  The memories will last a long time.  Joni and Dave are deep wells of information and taught us so many exciting things.

When Joni was here she brought a grab bag of goodies to give away.  After everything quieted down on Sunday night, we put everyone's name in a bucket a drew for the lucky winner...... who is.....

MEGAN, Kelly Walker's daughter!
 Congratulations sweet Megan!

And we had such a great time with Dave.  His whole family is traveling with him.  They help him unload and set up.  His lovely wife and co-owner, Monica, mans the Gypsy Van filled with extra product so you don't run out of stamps, paper or dies to sell.  The kids, Emma and Cooper, are ever so patient, helping unload and load.  They turn Dave loose, head out for adventure and check back at regular intervals.  They are a fine-tuned team.  And for those of you who didn't get to see the whole family...... TaDa..... here they are

So to Joni & the Dave Brethauer family..... we salute you and thank you for two wonderful, fun-filled weekend adventures in art!

That's it for now..... Until next post..... Happy Stampin'!
